New England beach week in Autumn

Wonderful Time at High Tide

Posted Oct. 16, 2022 on HomeAwayThe cottage is well taken care of. The sunroom was delightful and spent many hours there looking at the water. The sunsets from the porch were amazing and one evening we had a bagpiper playing down by the beach.
A month before our visit we sent an email to confirm some questions. We never heard back till a few days before we were to be there It was vey unsettling for us as we had a long drive ahead
The owner asked us to text her when we were 30 minutes from the house and she would meet us there and show us around. We never heard back from her. After we arrived she texted us she could stop later but we needed to go out to buy food

Hi Marilyn, I’m following up on your stay at our beach house in Ipswich. If something was amiss I wish you would have reached out to me to communicate there was a problem so we could have cleared it up then. I have always prided myself on being a good host and the reviews have always reflected that. Unfortunately your review does not reflect the facts. Perhaps you were having a bad day when writing the it and didn’t take the time to follow our text and email trail. I hope you're having a better day today.
I believe the communication breakdown began because both you and your husband were emailing me from different emails and last names, not knowing who was inquiring took time to figure out. I had emailed the information to him, apparently he didn't share it with you. You were supposed to arrive several hours earlier, and then texted you wanted to get food. When I followed up again later you were too tired to meet. Some people like to be left alone during vacation so I figured that’s what you preferred. It was a Saturday and owners are not expected to wait around all day for renters to arrive. Thats why there are self checkins, since everyone’s time is valuable.
In addition, you booked our property in 2021 to celebrate a birthday and cancelled two days prior to your arrival because of a medical issue. I felt really bad for you and gave you a FULL REFUNDF that you were not entitled to. I personally lost over $2,700 because it was too late to rent the property out. The only reason I took the time to respond to your review is because it is not accurate and could potentially mislead other possible renters.

Wonderful stay once again
Posted Sep. 10, 2022 on HomeAwayHighTide continues to be an outstanding place to vacation. Great location, wonderful views, everything one could want inside & out. Super location for enjoying outdoor activities, both on Little Necks and elsewhere off-island. Linda & Peter are outstanding hosts - helpful & responsive when any questions come up but respectful of your time at the cottage. Couldn't give anyone a higher recommendation.

Nothing short of Wonderful!
Posted Jun. 13, 2022 on HomeAwayMy husband and I were fortunate enough to find ourselves restoring our sanity at High Tide. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. The house was so comfortable. The front porch is the best place to spend the day just relaxing. The master bedroom has the most comfortable bed I think I have ever slept in. Linda, the owner was so kind and thoughtful. Our flight was cancelled ☹ and we had to scramble and rebook a flight that didn’t get us to the house until about 9:30 p.m., almost 12 hours later than expected, but Linda was there to greet us and make us feel welcome. The neighbors invited us over for a glass of wine and made us feel like family. I could go on, and on, and on… So, as I said, I can’t say enough good things about our experience. But one thing for sure, we will be back. Assuming we can find an open week.

million dollar view!
Posted Oct. 27, 2021 on HomeAwayWe picked this location for our fall tour of New England and we weren't disappointed. The view from the front porch/deck was soothing and relaxing. We found the area to be a choice location to find local seafood at its finest. This was considered a 5 star vacation and I thank the owners for the opportunity to have stayed there.
