Beautiful cottage with a great view

The location was convenient to beaches and other activities. Our host was friendly, welcoming, and accommodating.

One of my favorite vacation rentals of all time

When we first arrived at the property, we thought we might be at the wrong place; tucked away on a private hillside overlooking a pond, it's even lovelier and more picturesque than the listing photos. The house itself is artfully designed, with a smart layout and beautiful finishes. Each bedroom (there are really three, though one is set up as a den) has a private bathroom. The rooms are positioned far apart from one another, which is ideal for privacy and solitude. The house is stocked with everything you could need. The showers had great water pressure, and steamy hot water (a minor detail, I know, but I always appreciate it). The hosts were kind and very helpful. I suppose the only drawback of this place is its (lack of) proximity to town. It's super close to Crane Beach, which is precisely why we booked it. But it takes a good 15-20 minutes to get to a grocery store. We didn't mind this in the least, but I could see it being an inconvenience to some. Overall, I would recommend this place 100 times over. We hope to be back next summer.

Secluded private vacation home

Theere was swan family & a pair of cranes that came for daily visits. Quiet, peaceful & relaxing... Fill with family & friends for a GREAT VACATION! The bug season had just begun so bring spray & candles, Mother Nature rules at this house. ENJOY

Bedding is Important
Publié le 30 oct. 2021 sur HomeAwayThe property is nice enough, somewhat difficult to find as it is down a long dirt road. The biggest issue we had was the poor quality of the beds and linens. There are 2 twin beds in what should be the master suite and a queen bed upstairs. The twins were very springy and sagged a lot. The queen as extremely firm and unpleasant. For the rates that are charged I was expecting higher quality bedding. The towels were also of low quality and very stiff. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Hi Julie, we take guest feedback seriously and passed your comments on to the homeowner who would like to share the following:
-The 1/3 of a mile dirt driveway, which serves the cottage and a couple of houses, is what provides privacy that guests value.
-We're aware that both twin bed mattresses need attention, and we plan to make improvements during the off-season.
-We understand mattress preferences are subjective, and we feel the queen mattress is of high quality.
-Bed locations are a function of our cottage's use as a family house for most of the year.
-Upgrading to more expensive linens and towels would require us to increase rates above those recommended by Evolve.
-Despite contacting you three times before and during their stay, we had no response.
-Thank you for your review. We encourage all our guests to contact us with suggestions on how to improve our unique and lovely cottage.

Harvest Moon over the Lake was icing on the cake
Publié le 21 sept. 2021 sur HomeAwaySuch a beautiful, comfortable house in a serene and lovely setting, two miles from Crane Beach, is a perfect escape from the city. The host is extremely responsive. Swans on the lake make it picture book beautiful.
