Avis Lakefront front close to Columbia

We rent a place on Lake Murray every 4th of July. I have to say this is the worse experience we’ve ever had. The kitchen is infested with ants. Ants were all over the counter and got in all our chips and boxes of cereal. There were also ants in the twin size bed downstairs, both showers, and the bathroom vanities. The refrigerator did not work. When we woke up the first morning all our food was warm. We had to get coolers and ice to keep our food cold. The ice maker doesn’t work either. We left 2 days early because it was so uncomfortable and inconvenient staying there. I contacted Claire before we left for a refund and she assured me she would refund us. However that was not the case. I had to contact VRBO for a refund and Claire ignored their calls and messages. VRBO had to do a full investigation in order for me to get a refund and finally after 8 days I was granted a refund. This has been the worse experience we’ve ever had renting a place. Don’t waste your money at this location. The place is not clean and is infested in bugs and the host is not accommodating at all.

The place looked nice in the pictures, but the roof leaked, there were bugs everywhere and the overall cleanliness wasn't great. There was no way in or out of the water aside from a very slippery boat ramp. The dock has no ladder to get in and out. The property was not as advertised in my opinion.
