Thanksgiving Stay
Publié le 3 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayThanks for hosting us. It is GREAT to be able to stay at the White Pine Retreat for our annual thanksgiving holiday.
Instructions were really helpful and made it easy to get in/out and heat up the cabin for our thanksgiving stay. Close-up and check-out was easy!
Recommend the owners consider the quality of the kitchen cookware, utensils and general state of the kitchen drawers/cabinets. Several cooking items were broken or in disrepair. If additional rentals are planned, I recommend that an inventory of the utensils, pans, mixing bowls, knives, etc. be considered for what's still functional vs. at the "end of its life". Examples of broken/disrepair items: whisk, coffee grinder, lack of measuring cups/spoons, cracked bowls (leaked when liquids poured into them).
Also, we found only 3 kitchen towels were available in the drawers; the potholders were soiled or torn/worn out.

Overall, the cabin could use a deep cleaning of all surfaces. For a rental cabin, the owners should consider cleaning out the kitchen drawers of tools, bags, and miscellaneous "junk" so these could better serve kitchen/cooking type content. Also noticed the toilet paper rod is broken (duct tape fix). Cribbage board (broken/cracked), or lacking pins; no playing cards. These seem like "minor" details; yet as a guest rental home, it is noticeable.
It's a great cabin. We appreciated the years of rental uses and wish the owners all the best in 2025.

Dear Allyz, We are glad you had a GREAT time at the cabin. We also thank you for your feed back on areas we maybe able to improve. I have discussed your observations with the owners and we are going to address each detail.
Over the years we have accumulated items at the cabin that seem helpful during a vacation so far from town. Even a few hand tools come in handy at times because we are so remote. Also with our location in mind the owners go to great effort to keep the cabin well stocked with plenty of staple items to ensure our guests have everything they need.
We appreciate you and thank you for your repeated visits to the White Pine Retreat. We hope you will visit us again.

Awesome house!

We like to fish so it would have been cool to be able to fish from shore but no biggie....we hit the near by lakes.
Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful well equipped and secluded property
