Elk Meadows Cabin is a charming and rustic pet friendly cabin located on 6.3 beautiful acres in the Shotgun Subdivision in Island Park, ID. Right out the front and back doors you'll be amazed with majestic mountain views of Sawtelle Mountain out one side and the Tetons out the other. Being only 40 minutes away from the West entrance of Yellowstone, this cabin makes a perfect home base for your park adventures.

The comfortable kitchen comes fully equipped with cookware, dining ware, an electric oven and a full size dishwasher. Just beyond the kitchen you'll find a cozy sitting area complete with a dining nook and a 55'' flat screen TV w/ it's own Roku device - perfect for relaxing with the family! There's also a full size bathroom with a tub/shower combo just off of the kitchen.

Downstairs on the lower level, you'll find a comfortable sofa bed placed around a cozy propane fireplace. A washer and dryer are also located in this room, making it convenient to have a fresh set of clothes after your stay. Aside from the living room there is a private bedroom with a full over full bunk bed as well.

Upstairs on the top level you'll find two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and large wardrobe, and the second with another queen-sized bed and a cut out closet space. The bedroom upstairs with the walk out veranda has a rocking recliner so you can sit and enjoy the beautiful views of Sawtelle Mountain. Grab your favorite book and relax the stress away from everyday life.

Perfect
My family (6 total) stayed comfortably for 4 days. There are homes/ cabins around you, but you have plenty of space between you and them. We were in a minivan during summer so we had no issues with the road. But could see were winter might cause a problem for cars and minivans. It’s about 35 minus from the entrance to the West Yellowstone entrance, and about 2hrs from the Tetons. There is a nice grocery store about 15 minutes away. I would definitely stay here again.

Great base camp
Our family of 5 came to stay and loved every minute at this cabin. The description was accurate and we had so much fun. We used this cabin as a base camp for day trips and did a lot of our own cooking. They had everything we needed including a crock pot and coffee maker. We were so pleased. I was also thankful for the great communication and effortless check in and check out procedures. Thank you so much for a great week.

A very quaint little cabin
We found this cabin to be ideally located near Yellowstone, only about a 30 minute drive. There were convenient restaurants, groceries and gas nearby. This suited our needs perfectly. Loved the rustic touches of the house and was conveniently located away from neighbors.

Checked in on Friday, asked about an early check in to allow time to heat up dinner, it was quickly granted for a 2:00 pm check in. Clean and nice property with some yard space. Would do it again!

A little haven of peace close to Yellowstone
My family, my dog and I (6 adults) absolutely loved this place! The area is gorgeous and quiet, the cabin is very charming and so cozy, we loved how everything was labeled! There are many cleaned blankets and towels for everyone. We enjoyed the time we had together as a family. Great place!

Comfortable & Affordable!
This is a great affordable cabin in close proximity to Yellowstone. Please ask about the drinking water before your stay. Thankfully, we were able to use the well water during our stay but there have been issues in the area. Other than this, this is a great cabin and area.

Elk Meadows is a cute clean cabin. Communication with the host was great! The cabin has everything that is needed for a short trip. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. There’s a full size stove and refrigerator. The bathrooms are also fully stocked, with towels, toilet paper and dish soap. I always bring my favorite shampoo and soap, so I didn’t pay attention of those were stocked. Trash is easy ti take out. The property is 30-40 minutes from West Yellowstone. The good thing about that is that the night sky is unbelievable, you can even see star dust!! Haven’t seen a sky like that in years!!

Perfect for the Yellowstone traveler
This was our family’s second stay in Island Park in this particular area. The check in process was easy. The only hiccup we had was the email with the check in information arrived while we were in several areas with minimal cell service, but we did get it figured out 😊. This location is perfect as our family was exploring Yellowstone and the town of West Yellowstone. It was nice to be away from the crowds at the end of the day. Even without air conditioning, the ceiling fans and the cool nights helped keep the house comfortable. We will definitely be back in the future 😊

Enjoyed the cabin with good space for 4 teenage boys and my wife and I. We enjoyed driving into Yellowstone and seeing the sites. Kayaking down the river near macs lodge was a treat. Easy to find.

We Enjoyed our stay in the cabin. Glad there was laundry and soap😊 after hiking in Yellowstone. Well stocked kitchen. Beds pretty comfortable, very quiet and quiet ceiling fans. About 1/2 hour to west Yellowstone entrance Outside of cabin could use a little bit of updating maybe put the grill in the back it might make the front look better the fire pit was a nice touch we didn’t have enough time to use it thanks for the stay!

Best Surprise EVER!
This was a family trip with my son and his family and our dogs. Finding a VRBO that was pet friendly in the Yellowstone area was a challenge and in the past, lodging that allowed pets were on the shabby side. I was also disappointed that this cabin was 25 minutes away from the Yellowstone West entrance. But, any concerns I had quickly vanished once we arrived. The cabin had everything we needed, clean, with plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 boys with our dogs. The location turned out to be perfect for our family adventures. We spent one whole day at the Eagle Ranch horseback riding and water activities only 5 minutes from the cabin and very reasonably priced. Island Park area has great dining options and lots of activities to do. The options and comfort of the cabin made the 25 minute drive to the Yellowstone West entrance worth it to stay in a lovely, clean, and safe place.

Fun but plumbing issues.
We had a lovely time, the area was beautiful, peaceful and serene. We did have a plumbing issue with leakage over a bedroom downstairs. After a couple phone calls and the promise of a maintenance person to attend to us we were just left with an unusable bedroom and bathroom and still a no show from maintenance. Other than the management company, we really enjoyed the house. Just wish everything worked properly.
