Comfortable bed, windowless room, a bit bare, limited pressure on the hot water, staff friendly, nice each.

My husband and I stayed here for a few days. It was very noisy. People screaming at all hours of the night. Our room was next to the office, figured someone in the office would say something but they did not. And I am all for people having a good time but at 2 in the morning, yelling and screaming is inconsiderate for the people sleeping. The hallways were closed in except one end so it was extremely hot with no AC in the hallways or elevator. The room was clean. AC took a little bit to kick in but once you have it going it was fine. Not sure if I would stay again, but not totally against it either.

Parking sucks
Publié le 15 août 2024 sur HotelsThe stay was okay… it wasn’t a “bad place” but parking in Charleston is now owned by the city of Charleston right. So that would be good to know before staying in a room for longer than a day. You are going to definitely pay for parking over night and if it’s multiple nights that gets pretty dang expensive.

Great breakfast! The rooms are small and the bathrooms are so small that you have to close the door to move around. We were there during a tropical storm and the front desk clerk didn’t even upgrade us into an oceanfront room, when almost the whole place was vacant! And you have to pay for parking! Which is completely ridiculous! We’re not playing Monopoly here! But it felt like it! Beds are great and air conditioning is old and takes a day to cool the room… and it says your 3 minutes walking distance to the pier, which is close but you can’t even access the pier because it’s a private pier for their guests only and you have to have a code for the gate! We will not be staying here again!

Overall we enjoyed our time at the Palms. Check in was a little frustrating as we arrived just before shift change and received little information on where to park as the lot was full. When i finally parked and tried to get to the room our keys were not programmed. The “new” attendant at front desk was busy and left my family waiting on the street to get in the building. Eventually got in and once we got situated most things were ok. Ice machine was broken but found one on another floor. This was a hassle because my key wouldn’t let me get to another floor via elevator.
