Family Stay for Wedding

Publié le 7 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThere is nothing about this property that was described online that was accurate. There was a door with a note/lock between us and another group of family!!!! A bar of used soap was in the upstairs shower! The trash was completely full upon arrival and had bugs all around it. Not worth the daily rate. The DECK looked beautiful on the photos so we planned to eat outside—the weeds were grown up so much and the deck did not look safe.

First of all, we thank you for booking our place. It was unfortunate that you didn’t have a good experince during your stay. In response to your concerns, FIRST - the trash as I already explained to you during your stay, those trash bins that were full were properly locked and our co-worker put a note not to open it. And she moved those trash bins away from the kitchen entrance to the other side of the carport. You checked in July 4 which was a holiday and trash pick-up was supposed to be done the following day. Our co-worker took thos trash bins the next afternoon after you checked in. As for the DECK, the only thing that probably is different from the photos are the dry leaves. I believed, there are no leaves on the photos. Falling leaves will always be on the deck since there are trees around. The lawn company cleans our lawn twice a month. As for the other cleanliness concerns, we already addressed these issues with our housekeepers.

Magnolia Manor is a beautiful home. We rented it for my son’s wedding. Plenty of room for our family plus his groomsmen stayed one night and got dressed for the wedding at the house. It was close to the church and to the reception venue. Uber was easy transportation. Definitely would stay here again.

Not pleasant
Publié le 6 mars 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property itself was fine. It fit my family for my wedding weekend. The floors hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in some rooms, but it wasn’t unbearable. The main issue was communication with the hosts. They tried to charge me extra when I told them I may have 12 guests stay (which is the max occupancy), but I wasn’t sure. Ended up only being 6. There were 2 guests staying in the guest suite, who you share a carport and some walls with, who we believe were smoking (not cigarettes) inside despite it being a no smoking rental and also had specific instructions that illegal drugs were not allowed. Our entire upstairs reeked every night as soon as the heat came on and did not dissipate easily. We were told vents were not shared, but we smelled it. It was so bad constantly, I had to keep all of my hanging clothes in my car and my suitcase closed downstairs. When I told the host after we left (chose not to before since we shared a carport), they told us the other guests claimed they were burning incense, but that was not the smell we had. There also weren’t any lightbulbs in the foyer or working lights on the porch, but some cars had to be on the street since the guests in the guest suite had the 2nd spot in the carport. People parking on the street had to find their way in in the dark. Not very safe.. Overall, we won’t be returning or staying anywhere these hosts are involved with.

It was so unfortunate that you didn't have a good experience during your stay. Bringing the issue of us charging you extra for declaring 12 guests coming is ridiculous because we canceled the request. First, you only booked for 1 guests. If you only specified the correct number of guests staying the very moment you tried to book the place, you will see the details of the charges. After you booked the place, I responded and asked how many number of guests will be staying but you never responded. Then few days before your arrival date, I then asked again the number of guests and you VERY CLEARLY said (Sorry about that! I didn’t realize. Planning on 12 (10 adults) for at least one of the nights. Some of my cousins aren’t arriving until Saturday, but yes, planning on 12.) These are your actual words not mine.. So we charged you an extra for 2 guests for 2 nights. After we sent the request for additional payment, you right away changed the number of guests. You said (The first night 3 people are staying, the second night we have 6 people staying, and the 3rd night, I know for sure 6 people are staying, but my 4 cousins and their parents may stay depending on how late.) These are again your actual words. How I wish I have the option to attached the screenshot of your messages to justify your claim. I don't think it was our fault. In fact we canceled the request for additional payment. Regarding the smell from the other guests, I was just relaying to you what the guests responded. Complaining regarding the place not being cleaned, you complained after you checked out, sent us the photos after you checked out. Why didn't you inform us that the place was not cleaned as per your standard? We could have asked our housekeeper to come and fix it. You stayed for 3 nights but you complained after you left the place. We cannot justify such issue to our housekeeper. I believed, you booked the place since it was your wedding. I wonder why you were so bitter instead of being happy? Once again I apologized for failing to meet you standard. The last 3 guests who stayed before you gave us a 5 star over all rating. One group stayed for 14 nights. The guests who stayed right after you booked through Airbnb also gave us 5 star overall rating. And to anyone reading this review, Kindly take time to read the other reviews. The lights at the carport and back deck are both on 24/7 and there is a surveillance camera where we can check the outside area of the house thus making it safe.

Timeless Charm
Publié le 25 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayMagnolia Manor and it’s adjoining apt was the perfect Oasis for our team of 10. The location was great. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were clean and supplies were furnished for our needs, even mints next to our beds.
Communication was very timely and helpful throughout the full 2 weeks.
Will definitely Book again!

Family Weekend

The layout of the house was great for our group.
From the linens to the kitchen, everything was well stocked and then some.
The communication with Ashley was great.
We had a wonderful stay.

Lil oasis of Seclusion
Publié le 6 août 2023 sur HomeAwayMy family and I enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia Manor!! There was plenty of room for us to congregate as well as have our own areas. It is convenient to highways and restaurants. I would recommend if you are heading to the Jackson area!!
