The room was clean. The heater made a loud noise turning on and off during the night. The thermostat on the wall did not control the heat. The free breakfast was just o k. They start serving at 6:00 and close at 9:00. If you’re on vacation who wants to eat breakfast at 6:00 and by 8:00 the food was not that good. They were out of coffee at 8:30 finally got more but they close at 9:00. I will not stay there again. We have stayed at the Jekyll island location and it was wonderful so I’m thinking it is the Amelia island management.

The grounds and our room were very nice. We had a comfortable stay. The staff were outstanding. We especially enjoyed meeting Sergio at breakfast; very friendly and helpful.

Close to Old Town but Extremely Dirty

The property needs to step up cleaning efforts. This Springhill is disturbingly dirty. We checked in and found hair in the bathroom, blood on the bath floor, urine (!) in the toilet. When we let the front desk know they called housekeeping and moved our room, and the new room was dusty, obviously not vacuumed. It's never a good idea to have hotel rooms carpeted. The elevators are dirty. No coffee in the morning at the breakfast buffet, so that should be monitored. My room key shut off at 9:30 am (!) and I could not get back into the room. Could be a nice property; perhaps staffing is an issue. Can't recommend in this state.

Everything was very nice, but the evening woman at the desk was not very pleasant. I wanted to use my Marriott rewards number and she was not very accommodating at all to putting in my rewards number. I had just used in prior so I so it should have been acceptable, but she was annoyed. Other than that, everything was very nice.

Very hard to navigate, with 2 properties connected together you need great signage, which this property is lacking outside and inside. Drive into this place at night and try to figure out where the lobby is for check in.

Will choose a different hotel next time

Room wasn't what I booked and the the desk seemed like I was bothering him. Needed toothpaste and he said I can buy it, but room had note in it that they offer it complimentary. Ended up going to the gas station across the street in the rain.

The location is walkable to the beach and waterfront. It’s a 5 minute drive to downtown shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and exactly what I had booked. I found it concerning that hotel doors from parking area were never securely locked. As a matter of fact the inside pushbar on the door was zip tied so it wouldn’t lock. The elevator was equipped with a room card pad to enable guests to access rooms. I Learned that this safety feature was also broken, enabling anyone to walk in through the lobby and ride the elevator to any floor without being a paying guest of Springhill Suites. I’m surprised a property manager allows this to happen.
