Not sure why Expedia rates this as a 4 star hotel but the bedding, towels/bathroom, and overall room feel more like a 3 star hotel. Staff, however, were very nice and courteous. Breakfast was okay…could be better.

Breakfast selection very disappointing from non-Asia Pacific diner. Also tobacco smoke almost inescapable in restaurant and other common areas.

If you ever plan to visit Jambi Indonesia to learn about the History of the Ancient Buddhist Kingdom of Sri Vijaya, one of the best hotel you can stay would be at Aston Jambi Hotel. It is nice and clean. Staff are friendly and competent. The breakfast buffet is good. They even have a swimming pool. In the evening you can visit to roof top bar and catch a great view of the town of Jambi. Have stayed here twice and we were very happy on both occasions. They even prepared breakfast for all of us when we had to leave the hotel at 530am to catch our flight home. So kudos to its management. PS: booked it through expedia @expediamy.
