Cosy house with great location
Publié le 25 août 2022 sur HomeAwayRented this house for its proximity to the Adirondack mountains and hiking trails and we were not dispointed! Also did a bit of fly fishing! The house provided all the comfort we needed and the owners were great to help us with tons of information! Overall a great family vacation.

Delightful stay!

Our hosts were always available to assist us with our needs.

Trip to Adorondaks
Publié le 23 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwaylocation was awesome. Very quiet, There were dead bugs all over the place and we woke up to many flies and wasps flying around. We pretty much killed flies, wasps, everyday all day!!! I realize that you are in Nature, but that is a bit much for all of those bugs everywhere. Knats came in through screen and were all over the bathroom. For as much as we paid for the house, we should not have had to taken the trash or worried about using sheets and towels and getting charged for them. Please do not charge me extra as This was too expensive to begin with for 3 nights. The bugs were out of control inside the house.

I wish you would have called me or caretaker to report this. I learned after the fact that our natural pest control company had been there the day before your rental. Likely the spray to outside shoved flies and lady bugs inside. We don’t use toxic products inside to provide safe environment for pets and kids.
Also, Sometimes in change of season there is a massive influx of bugs.
Like I said, we annually treat the house in summer and fall for pest control and do as much as we can to make it comfortable! Any renter should call host rather than suffer and complain afterwards. Please. My cleaning lady goes there all the time and strives for a very clean home. She also just reported this new fall bug problem to us after you left. Was not an issue just before rental. Additionally, I cannot control rural location of no curbside pickup. I reimburse for trash removal after rental. You were able to leave linens and my cleaning lady certainly commented on the large extent of laundry she did. That is included with any standard cleaning fee. In future, please let hosts help u during a stay rather than complaining afterwards. Thanks.

Hiking in the Adirondack Mountains
Publié le 20 août 2024 sur HomeAwaySpot was perfect for me and my adult children as a base for hiking the various trails in the Adirondacks plus visit to Lake Placid. Creature comforts of being at home (including internet access and cell service) and property was as listed. Easy communication and support from the host; would use again for future visit to the area.

Comfortable home; gorgeous surroundings
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayKaren and David offer a cozy, well-equipped house with many thoughtful amenities for both comfort and fun. Examples: guides to local farms and markets; fire pit; window fan; laundry facilities; sweet little walking trail through wild raspberry bushes.
Views on all sides are amazing. We love the location - quiet and remote-feeling, but with easy access to high peaks, Whiteface recreation area and Lake Placid. Many places to hike and swim.
Karen is communicative and helpful throughout the process of booking, arrival etc.
We love staying here and hope to return soon!
