First class visit

We loved the experience, from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. Everything was first class from the staff to the rooms and the food. Stunning venue, secure parking, beautiful rooms, amazing breakfast and the friendliest staff we've ever met.

A truly lovely place to stay. We worked from our private room with excellent WiFi, enjoyed a delicious breakfast of fruit, muesli and yogurt in the comfort of our spotlessly clean room, and a cooked breakfast for the second day. The host is kind, helpful and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. The Lavender Room was perfect for our needs, privacy was respected and the decorative touches made it a special stay.

I am a regular customer of this guest house. I can always feel like I am at home because of the great hospitality of all the staff. Breakfast is also wonderful and room is clean. I would definitely recommend this guest house!

STAY AWAY!!

Contre : Security is terrible. Cameras need to be installed! The staff doesn't seem to care about the reputation of this guest house.
Emplacement : Stay in your room the whole time prior to check out because when you are about to check out, you will be robbed if you leave your belongings there.
WARNING!! I WAS ROBBED THE LAST NIGHT AT THE GUEST HOUSE BY THE STAFF. I left to have dinner and when I returned, my room had been accessed with a spare key and my valuables stolen. I contacted the Manager who arrived and was confused by the whole affair. When the manager arrived to investigate she doubted any staff would commit a crime and later blamed it on a guest that stole two televisions the same night. In the early morning, the housekeeper made a deliberate appearance, prior to me leaving, saying the gardener had been accused of theft on prior occasions. When I tried to use the lodge's insurance to file my claim, I was treated like a criminal. The insurance company wanted affidavits and extensive documentation to support the losses. There are no cameras on the vicinity and security is relaxed with the staff. Don't be the next victim!!

Dear James I do sincerely apologise again for the loss you incurred by the robbery. Royal Ridge Guest House was founded in 1999 and this was the first time that we had a robbery by a “paid guest”. Johan Kotze alias Stephan Nel has robbed over 30 guest houses in the Pretoria area. He was arrested and sentenced to 18 month jail time. I just want to confirm that at no stage was he an employee of the guest house. I also just want to confirm that my staff was not involved in this robbery, because they are long standing and loyal people that served many guests over the years as reviews have shown. I do apologise for the red tape regarding the insurance claim, unfortunately they do have to follow the procedures to finalise a claim. I wish you and your family the best. Regards Lorraine

LOVED our stay and HIGHLY recommend!

Pour : People. Room. Facilities. Detail-oriented. Charm.
Emplacement : All relatively close - in gated/residential area so super safe and all was very easy to get to (by car).
We loved our stay here. People were BEYOND nice and friendly (loved our conversations). Room was immaculate, huge and charming. Facilities were beautiful, elegant and first-rate. Would HIGHLY recommend and already have, both for short-term visitors or anyone looking for a longer stay. Next time we are in the area, we will definitely be back!

Great value good quality place for travellers

This is a simple cheap but reliable place to stay. Rooms are small. Bathroom is functional. Quiet and clean accommodation. The breakfast is prepared by Maria and is excellent. Maria is warm and friendly and will attend to requests. Wifi works ok. Bed is very comfortable.
