Very handy to the airport and the shuttle service is terrific.
We stayed there twice, but the second time was the best. The room the first time was a little tired, but not the second...clean - modern - comfortable.
Staff were excellent...friendly.
Would certainly stay there again.

We had a very comfortable overnight stay twice. Food is wonderful and rooms comfortable King Superior. Location and shuttle from airport a plus.
Staff where great, reception does need a more welcoming and take a credit card detail so you can put restrauant , drinks and other purchases back to room fir check out.

Southern Sun O.R. Tambo International Airport Is an good hotel for travelers arriving or departing from JNB and need a night’s stay. The hotel has 24/7 free shuttle service running from the bus station behind the Intercontinental Hotel just across the street from the arrivals terminal. The hotel is reasonably priced. It has great staff at reception (special call-out to Marvin) and generally good service all around (restaurants at peak times are a different matter…more staff would be helpful). The rooms are large and clean but the interior is getting old. In my room this time, the curtains got stuck. Previously, the toilet seat would not stay up, etc. Bathroom in general could do with upgrade/freshening up. For a night’s stay, these are minor inconveniences. Probably the biggest problem is lack of good lighting in the rooms and especially the bathrooms. This makes shaving difficult. Please consider using led lights that can be much brighter and are also very low wattage so won’t run up the electricity bill.

I returned here again as it has all the services. I require such as convenient staff is always great and transfer service is a key for me to and from airport, staff is really good here also.
