Propre et vieux, mal insonorisé
Publié le 21 sept. 2017 sur HotelsOn s'attendait à mieux compte tenu du prix demandé et dans un endroit isolé. L'hotel est propre , mais assez vieux, sans ambiance. L'insonorisation des chambres est nulle, la toilette ne fonctionnait pas et ce n'était un problème récent, il n'y avait pas de chaînes pour soulever le bouchon pour évacuer l'eau de la toilette. pas de frigo dans la chambre, des affiches pour limiter l'utilisation des glaçons. Bref peu accueillant, correct pour un soir. Petit-déjeuner minimaliste

This is a no frills motel. Decor is dated but clean. Carpets were recently replaced. It was okay for a 1 night stay while traveling.

Good place to stay while traveling. Clean and comfortable. There weren't excessive amenities that I had to pay for, but that I wouldn't use.

We stayed 4 nights here as a centered location for all of the places we wanted to visit in the area (Badlands, 1880 town, Wall Drug, and Pierre). It was perfect for a place to sleep (pretty good price value as well), and the staff was friendly.

It was a bit difficult to find the hotel as there were many businesses using the same parking.
The hotel was exceptionally clean with choices if nearby restaurants.

Beware of bait and switch tactics
Publié le 30 juill. 2024 sur HotelsWe were victims of a "bait and switch" by the hotel management. And we are not happy about it. We booked a room at America's Best Value Inn. After driving 500 miles, we were tired and looking forward to resting.
At check in, we were told they did not have a room for us. The front clerk (Dain, who was pleasant) said they had a room for us at their "other hotel" and he pointed to a run down looking budget motel across the street. We were stunned, to say the least.
We asked how are we able to book a room, when they were sold out. He said someone "forgot" to turn off the booking. Really? And then he admitted there were 4 others that this happened to as well. I think this is very poor and greedy on the part of management/ownership of the hotels.
Again, a complete fraud. Bait and switch. We booked, and paid for what we thought was a nice looking hotel, and got a room out of the 1970's. We fully expect this will be reflected on our credit card statement. If we are not billed for the cost of the budget hotel that we stayed in, we will be filling a complaint with our credit card company for the difference (they did, after complaining, give us a receipt for the cost of the budget motel).
The front desk clerks at both hotels were friendly. I felt bad they have to deal with greedy management/owners

Hello Jonell, We would like to apologize for the inconvenience you endured. We understand that there was a significant issue with over booking on the date of your stay and for that, we apologize. Rest assured, this is an extremely rare occurrence. There seems to be some confusion as to what a "bait and switch" is but as stated before, the issue with your stay was a very rare occurrence. Management and all front desk employees are both required to maintain online booking/direct booking. According to our records, your stay at the "budget motel" was not billed as they do not have a card on file for your stay. As for your online 3rd party booking, the virtual card used for your stay here at ABVI was charged in full. We will retain full amount for your stay as you did occupy our "sister motel". We do appreciate your business.

This is a good place to stay overnight while traveling. It's not a luxury hotel so I didn't pay for amenities and things I wouldn't use.
Staff was very nice and friendly.

No elevator. Misinformation about breakfast times. Non-working ice-maker.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you while you were our guest. Unfortunately, we do not have an elevator available as it states on all 3rd party platforms. Our continental breakfast room is available at 6:30am-9:00am, the french doors leading into said room has a sign that states time of opening and closing. Ice machine is down at the moment but we offer guests ice, just need to ask front desk personnel. We appreciate your business!
