few days close to Kafue river.

Great environment, some friendly staff but hotel is not service oriented at all. The reception seemed to be angry to have to receive guests or provide any (standard) service requested. Rooms with the bare minimum but clean. Nice game walk with a friendly ranger.

The staff here are very polite and willing to go out of their way to ensure my needs were met. Further the property is on the banks of Kafue River, making it a perfect location for a water lover like myself.

Epic Failure

I wanted a place to relax for the Holiday but Chita lodge was the total opposite. It was a very stressful stay. Please DO NOT book Chita lodge Kafue during holidays. They were understaff on Christmas day and service was horrible. Then the following days after Christmas service improve once, then it went back to horrible even though the lodge wasnt fully booked. We waited over an hour to get a waiter/waitress,while they were many around just hanging around. We had to actually requested someone to come and attend to us. By then I was so upset that I took a taxi to town to buy a late lunch and dinner. Also they are not vegetarian friendly. The lodge had the same menu for lunch and dinner throughout my entire stay. At night that same menu most meal was not available. Additionally, the room that was advertise on hotel.com was different then the room we stayed in. It was just a normal size room with no closet, nothing to hang clothes/jackets, no bedside lamp tables, and no rack in the bathroom to hang towels. Housekeeping didn't come until 14 hrs to clean the room. I wouldn't recommend Chita lodge Kafue especially around the holiday because of their lack service.

Management held a meeting with the staff on duty during the time of your stay and action has been taken to avoid a similar occurrence of events. The property is large and well maintained and the food is great. I didnt like the load MUSIC in the evening at the pool side and the lounge bar/restuarant.I found it hard to rest/sleep back at my room.The music went on till around mid night.
