Loved the high ceilings to keep cool during the heat and the clean bathroom.

At around 11pm the first night we stayed a drunk and very angry man could be heard screaming downstairs and tossing furniture. The entire town is rundown with next to no amenities. Skip this one.

Gregory your comments are disappointing as there was no-one staying downstairs besides my wife and I and, we are right next to the cottage which was occupied during your stay, so we would have been aware of this screaming and furniture tossing, but can only assume that it was someone that was outside the Hotel property - which we obviously have no control over. It is a great pity you did not mention this when you checked out so we could investigate this further. As to the town with next to no amenities, Kaikohe is a small rural town that, agreeably, has seen better days but has all the amenities expected in a small rural community. If you required something specific that you were unable to find in the town, we would have gladly assisted you, We hope you travel safely to your next destination.

We are investigating the re-opening of the restaurant in the future on a scaled down version primarily aimed at serving our guests for breakfast and dinner.

Good location for bikes in struggling town.
Posted Feb. 28, 2023 on HotelsThis hotel has been updated sympathetically and is quite charming in a town that is struggling. A good location for bike rides (Twin Coast), the room was airy, large, clean and pleasant. On arrival you call the number and a pleasant lady appeared and handled everything with charm and capability. Car is parked in good lock up area behind police station. Downsides were limited places open later to eat and noisy cars and “drag” racers in street at night. Lots of twoing & froing with keys but all worked well.
