Here for daughter’s wedding

Property was very pretty and along the beach access our daughter normally uses to get to the beach. Kitchen well accessorized with cooking needs, spices, etc. Our space was shared by family of 2 older adults and 2 younger adults. Stayed for a week of enjoyment, both before and after the wedding.

Nice BUT
Publié le 1 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayFirst the listing says air conditioning, but it’s actually 1 unit in the upper bedroom and it barely put out cool air. My mother, age 75, was very hot in the room. The rest of the rooms had just fans and it was not enough to keep us comfortable, especially sleeping. Second, within minutes of arriving to the house with our dinner my sister found a cockroach in the silverware drawer so we had to head out to get traps to put all over the kitchen and rewash everything. Third, my mother used the upstairs shower and it would go back and forth from hot to cold and she almost scald herself when she first got in because she was not expecting it to do that nor were there any notes giving us any warning of any issues.
The house was in a nice quiet area with a nice path to the beach which was absolutely gorgeous and close to a lot of areas we went to, but we ended up leaving a day early and stayed in a hotel because the 4 of us were not getting any sleep due to the heat. There was not enough breeze coming in the windows to cool the rooms down. We were disappointed because the area was beautiful.

These reviews always are hard on me as I am very clear with all guests that I want them to reach out to me if there are any issues instead of me never hearing a word from them their entire stay and then posting a bad review. The house is clearly listed as only having air conditioning in the master bedroom as it is the only bedroom that does not face the ocean. I was not made aware that the window ac unit in the master bedroom was not functioning properly. Had I known I could have had a new unit immediately installed. New unit in master bedroom now installed Oct 2024.
Cockroaches are unfortunately the one down fall of coming to paradise. Even though we have regular pest control they still sneak in from time to time through open doors. All of the windows have screens on them. Seeing one during your stay simply can't be avoided even at the nicest hotel on island it is just an unfortunate reality of Hawaii life :)

The place was hotter than the 4 of July had to buy fans to keep us cool not good
Publié le 29 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house was not equipped with bbq ,a/c after a long day of activities came back to a oven house, had to buy fans because the ones they had didn’t work as well this property is not worth the 7,000 dollars I spent to bring my family there also we had to take the garbage cans out and do made work before we checked out.

I am always extremely disappointed when a guest does not reach out to me at all during their stay but instead writes a horrible review without ever giving me a chance to rectify anything.
Our house does not have a bbq and is not listed as having one, we have had two past guests start small fires which could have burned the house down so it unfortunately is too much of a liability to continue to provide one.
We also only have AC in the master bedroom which is clearly stated in my ad, it is the only bedroom that does not face the ocean. All windows are screened and there are fans in every room. If they weren’t working I am very clear to reach out to me with any issues and I would have brought new ones over right away.
We ask guests to take out their trash, pile used laundry and do their dishes before checking out, we do not request any cleaning to be done.
Again I am saddened this guest never once contacted me but instead just wrote a horrible review over a month after checking out. I am always available to fix any issues that may arise and want all guests to have an enjoyable stay.

Stunning home

The backyard and both patios served as a great reprieve from sun on the beach. Ocean views from second floor balcony and just steps from the beach which was wasn’t crowded at all-it felt like our own private oasis! Can’t wait to return!

5 Star Property/Highly Recommend

It had an amazing back porch, grassy play area for our toddler grandson with beach toys included. Owner has thought of everything you need during your stay and even recommended restaurants and shopping. The cool ocean breeze off the water kept the home cool. You can see the water & beach from the upstairs lanai. We had an extraordinary week stay and will definitely be back again. We would highly recommend for a group/family stay.

Great location but not well taken care of
Publié le 30 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe loved the historical nature of the house and the beach being so close. Unfortunately it wasn’t really well cared for. The beds and bedding were older and not very comfortable. The shower curtain was moldy and the pillows were old with some staining. There’s a big difference between a rental where they have thought about your comfort and go the extra mile and a rental like this that seems like an afterthought. I wouldn’t book this home again.

Location is the reason to stay here
Publié le 8 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis property is very close to the beach but it is not waterfront as the listing implies. There is a house being constructed in front of it that impedes the view. Also, the house is NOT air conditioned even though the amenities list says it is. There is 1 ac unit in the 1 upstairs bedroom but none of the common spaces nor the 2 downstairs BRs have A/C. The house needs updating. I expected a lot more given the cost.

Hi Randi, I have worked hard to ensure our beach house is listed accurately to all travelers. If you read through the description it states there is only AC in the master bedroom as it is the only bedroom that does not face the ocean so doesn’t get the same breeze. I wish you had reached out before or during your stay with any questions or concerns. The price and location are truly unbeatable! We are one house back from the beach with a sandy beach path accessed through our yard. I hope you were able to enjoy your time celebrating the 4th of July in paradise complete with a beach firework show the town puts on each year :)

Hawaiian Paradise Family Fun

The layout was perfect for our multigenerational family offering everyone from the oldest (72) to the youngest (10) plenty of space. The location to the beach, shops, and town was exactly what we wanted. The lack of AC throughout the house was a shock to the system, but only for a bit. The position of the house offers great breezes. I was even grabbing a sweater at nights by the end of the trip. The house is full of character and charm, which we absolutely loved. It was also well stocked with a lot of those essential items you don’t want to have to pack including blow dryer, flat iron, curling iron, plenty of beach towels/chairs/toys and more. Great water pressure and hot water for our large family. Quick, easy communications with the property manager. My only comment that is not a complaint would be that this house is a historical island home with a lot of those neat touches, but also quirks and difficulties. However, the notes around the house were so helpful when getting your bearings in a new place. We honestly can’t wait to return one day!

Outstanding Beach Property
Publié le 3 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe property is a few steps from Kailua Beach, a 2.5-mile beach that, except for some weekend days, has very few people. Staying here is like staying on an outer island but with the conveniences of Honolulu when you want them. Great for long, peaceful beach walks.
It is about 30 minutes from the airport. There are many nearby good restaurants for dine-in or take out. Grocery and other stores are convenient.
