Enjoy the privacy and amazing ocean and golf course views of this single family luxury home. Fully equipped with all the comforts to make your stay in paradise a relaxing and enjoyable one. The spacious floor plan and open layout leads to the heated infinity pool for full enjoyment of this spectacular Hawaiian oasis.

The Space:
**Mauna Kea Resort will begin renovations in mid-April and will be done in phases. As Member's Guests, you will continue to have access to all areas except for the Mauna Kea Golf Course which will be closed from mid-April until early December. Fortunately, we still have our Hapuna Golf Course available for play.

A new spa will be built on the north lawn, the fitness center will be moved over to the Garden Room (just below) the new spa, and a lap pool will be built below that area. But that area is not really utilized for members or residential guests now so won’t affect any points of access.
There will be some renovations done to certain restaurants at Mauna Kea but these will be short-lived projects. And since guests have access to both hotels there will still be the use of many amenities while you are here.

This luxury single-family home is perched on half an acre overlooking the 5th and 6th holes of the Mauna Kea Resort Golf Course with spectacular ocean and sunset views from the pool, lanai, and most places in the house. Wonderfully crafted with high-quality ceramic tile and Italian stone inside and out and solid Cumaru wood floors. Beautifully landscaped to achieve privacy in the backyard while also maintaining the amazing views. There is a spacious yard and an infinity pool that flows right up to the house. There are stairs on both sides of the pool for easy entrance. 

Centrally and conveniently located are the living area, dining area, and gourmet kitchen equipped with everything you need including a sit-in breakfast bar and wine cooler. There is plenty of natural light and the open floor plan is perfect for the family to enjoy tropical Hawaiian indoor-outdoor living.  

Surrounding the beautiful, expansive, and top-ranked white sand Kauna’oa Beach the property slopes gradually towards the bay allowing for almost every home on the property to enjoy the spectacular ocean, sunset, and Maui views.

The Neighborhood:
The Mauna Kea Resort community is an upscale resort community with access to the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Autograph Collection. The Hotel has many amenities and access to arguably the best beach on the Big Island.

Getting Around:
The Big Island has much to see and do and it is highly advised that Guests rent a car to take advantage of the many things this island has to offer. Hawaii Island does not have abundant public transportation, so renting a car is best. However, if you do not drive you may consider hiring a charter tour, driver, or Uber.

Other Things to Note:
*Please note that the Mauna Kea Resort charges a separate $120 per day (per house) resort fee to assume member's guest privileges. This fee is paid upon check-in, at the guest services office located in the Hapuna Hotel lobby (details included with rental agreement). If our Guests opt into the Resort Amenities they will have access to both the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as well as the Westin Hapuna Hotel. It is well worth a visit to the Hapuna to visit their swimming pools and another world-class beach.

The home was designed to be opened up and cooled with the natural breezes. There is a split ductless Air Conditioning system, one in either bedroom, which keeps the bedrooms cool at night and if all of the windows and doors are closed can even cool the main living area. However, we do encourage tenants to open the house up and use it as the architect intended All the doors and windows have screens to keep the bugs out.

One of our best memories of Hale Lokahi was our gasps as we walked into the house for the first time. Wow, everywhere we looked was breathtaking. Three disappearing glass walls, two with expansive ocean views, surrounded the beautifully appointed living room that opened onto the huge pool. There was the enormous, well-appointed kitchen and an adjacent dining room with another wall of disappearing glass looking onto the front garden and towards the mountains and north coast. Two large ensuite bedrooms on opposite sides of the home, each with a spa shower, gave a grand sense of spaciousness and privacy. There were tasteful art pieces everywhere that stopped us in our tracks. But, the biggest gasps were for the ocean view, from each lanai, a step out from the bedrooms, and while swimming laps in the infinity-lipped pool. Come on, how many rental houses can you say, “I wouldn’t change a thing.” We scrambled daily to see the Big Island and all its beauty with enough time to get back to the lanais for the spectacular sunsets. The birds sang beautiful songs daily, mongooses peeked out from the shrubs, and a goat herd even walked by the east lanai, all adding to the superb spectacle of this locale. The location was very handy to all the nearby beaches and hiking trails we’d planned to visit, and the garage was well stocked with almost everything needed for a great beach outing. We won’t go on, although we could, so let’s just say this house is truly, really, a memorable experience!

From the property manager, to the house, to the location… everything was above and beyond expectations. Our stay was almost in jealousy due to local wildfires, but our property managers went above and beyond to make sure that we were still able to come. I would highly recommend these property managers and this house for any Hawaii vacations!!

Lovely quiet neighborhood with beautiful views
This was a good home base for the West side of the Big Island. Two large Masters and a large living space. The pool spans the whole house immediately outside. Amazing sunsets from the house and all around the neighborhood. The furniture and dishes and such are dated but functional. The house gives you access to two resort hotels. The Westin is a bit further but much nicer. Lovely soft sand beaches and chairs and and umbrellas to spend the day. You need a car to get around as the resort and house are fairly remote.

This home is large (but only 2 bedrooms) and beautiful with an incredible infinity edge pool adjacent to the living room. The large open kitchen is very well stocked and there are 2 outdoor patios for grilling and dining. We loved our stay here!

Most amazing location and property
Stayed for a week with my wife and daughter, and it couldn't have been a more perfect experience. The house is amazing; clean, modern, stylish. The pool is the perfect temp and overlooks the ocean and Mauna Kea resort. My daughter actually only wanted to swim in the pool, so getting her to explore the rest of the island became challenging, lol. We now want to make this a yearly trip because everything was perfect and so fun. And Burt is such an awesome host. Very responsive & left a very nice care package for us. As an added perk, the Mauna Kea resort was also amazing. Restaurants were delicious, service was impeccable, and the most picturesque beach you've ever seen. 20 out of 5 stars Thanks Burt! Eric

We enjoyed the location and the only issue we had was the hot water system was on vacation mode so chilly showers and pool. Not a deal breaker at all since we swim at Lake Tahoe often and it is always cold!! We would definitely stay here in the future.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Luxury Villa. The Villa is wonderful and well represented by the photos. Having access to the two resorts added to the visit. There is a beautiful view of the 4th & 5th holes on the golf course (there are some worse golfers than me out there), and a view of the ocean. We actually saw the "Green Flash" sunset our first night. The beach is a 1 mile walk or a quick drive. It is much nicer staying here rather than the crowded hotels. We will be back.

This is a great house! It has two master suites, one on either side of the house, so they are private. The doors slide back on all three sides of the living area for a fully indoor-outdoor experience (with screens!). One downside is the unheated pool, so is only as warm as the sun makes it! We highly recommend renting a golf cart to easily get around the Mauna Kea property. Property managers James and Kai were very attentive to our needs.

I loved the view and location!
We had a wonderful stay at this home. I loved how the pool became apart of the living space when the sliding doors opened up. I think the view is better than what is shown in the pictures. Last time we stayed at the Mauna Kea resort but now I prefer this house over a hotel room for our family. Kai and James were helpful and went out of their way to make our stay work for us. We appreciated all their efforts. We would stay here again if we have 4 people on our trip. If all our children travel with us, this would not work. Which it would sleep six.

Beautifully situated, comfortable, and well cared for.
This was the perfect family vacation spot for our small family. Being on property at Mauna Kea with use of the facilities was ideal. The house is attractive and comfortably furnished. The views were fantastic. We found it easy to get around to restaurants in various locations (Waimea, Waikoloa, Hualalai). We were well cared for by Kai Ohuchi, the property manager, who addressed all of our questions and needs promptly and efficiently. We look forward to a return visit.

Beautiful, quiet and well appointed
Our family of 4 had a great stay at the Lanikai Home. Open floor plan and plenty of outdoor space suited us well. Trips to the beach and MKBH were easy and only a couple of minutes away. We will gladly stay here again. Kai and Burt were helpful and unobtrusive.
