We really enjoyed our stay at Aronka, and what made it so good was the owner Jam, and the two young guys who worked there. Jam was very helpful, and called me within minutes of booking... and even arranged to collect us from town when we arrived. The hotel was clean and the room was comfortable, and the breakfast (cooked by the two guys) was great!! Couldn't fault it. We were there over the New Year celebrations and they even invited us to join them for drinks, with fireworks and a full spread of traditional food the following day...which was extremely kind of them. I would definitely recommend this place if you like homestays, and it wasn't too far from town either. About 10-15 mins walk along the lakeside.

I will never recommend to anyone. Worst experience.No staff . No room service. Not even drinking water is available. Nor tea is there. I would say it was a nightmare

Aronka homestay is possibly the best homestay I have ever stayed at. Everything was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for better. The homestay is situated a very short walk from Kandy Lake, and after a 15/20 minute walk you will end up in the centre of Kandy with all of it's restaurants and markets. The room itself was large and included a very comfortable bed with mosquito nets. The room also had AC and access to the balcony which is a delightful place to spend an evening. The bathroom was well equipped and also included a jacuzzi which I'm sure is great if that's your sort of thing. It had UK plug sockets so no adapters needed and the wifi was the best connection we had throughout the whole trip. The waterfall outside was amazing and we regularly saw all sorts of amazing wildlife like monitor lizards and porcupines! The breakfast cooked was the best we had out of all the hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The owners cooks a mean omelette which you must try! We spent Sri Lankan new year with the owner Jam who was hospitable enough to cook a huge traditional lunch for us all as all the restaurants were closed. We then had a few drinks together and chatted until late at night which was a great evening. All in all, I think this is a great place to stay and at this price, you couldn't ask for better.
