Outstanding experience
Posted Mar. 1, 2021 on HotelsVisalam is not a hotel, but a home. It reflected in every little thing at this place.
The service was outstanding and Malaisamy really takes care of the guests’ dining needs with care and constant attention.
The largest King size bed ever, the high ceilings and the beautiful courtyard makes this Chettiar marvel truly majestic. Keep it up, Team Visalam

Hidden Little Gem
Posted Aug. 13, 2019 on Hotelsas usual with any CGH property, the hotel was great... lovely staff,,, excellent little gem found in the middle of no where. the Swimming pool was great... only thing that they could improve is to have some food options for kids as they sometimes are fussy...other than that all was great.. highly recommended

Lovely hotel in Chattinadu
Posted May 16, 2017 on Wotif
Pros: Loved the location, the attentive staff and particularly the super clean pool, without using any chemicals, just RO water and UV filtration.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Activities included cooking demo, evening walk, etc.
Our stay was an unforgettable experience, we loved every moment we were there.

Luxurious experience of missing past comforts
Posted Jun. 11, 2016 on Expedia
Pros: The architecture, the cleanlilness, the pleasant service.
Cons: Provide refrigerator and coffee/tea making facilities in the bedroom. If there is no-one at the front desk to pick up the phone, re-direct the call.
The property is a beautifully restored old Chettiar home. The bedrooms had the look and feel of the past, but also the inadequacies: no coffee/tea making in the room, no refrigerator. The property is cosy and boutique-like, with only 15 rooms - which is too few to have a liquor licence. So you can't enjoy a beer on a hot day. The service is also slow, since the kitchen is far from the three locations at which meals are served. So, if you think modern comforts and rapid service are essential in a place you'd like to call home in this arid locale, this hotel isn't for you. However, if you want to experience life as it was a century ago in a wealthy Chettiar home, this is fabulous.
