Stargazing in the desert on a moonless night

Pour : It is a quaint guest house in a small Karoo town run by a nice couple. Lovely.
Contre : White bathrobes to slip into for the trek back and forth to the shared bathroom in the middle of the night.
Emplacement : The road in from the N1 passes a Spaceport. This is not the entrance to the SALT observatory.

Sterland star gazing.
The Blue Moon is a lovely guesthouse in a very small town in the middle of nowhere. People come to Sutherland to look at the heavens. There are no fancy hotels in this town, so my rating is based on my expectations for a place to stay in the desert, not a five-star hotel in a major city.
My wife and I went to Sutherland for two nights of stargazing and wanted a comfortable place to stay. The Blue Moon exceeded our expectations. The owners went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our stay was enjoyable--including giving us directions to the Ouberg Pass to watch the sunset and a bucket of ice to cool a few beers.
I would love to come back to Sutherland. If I do, I will stay at the Blue Moon again.

Pleasant helpful hosts, comfortable room (despite having to share bathrooms), excellent breakfast, other meals available on site.
