Katafygio Studios are two luxury studios each accommodating 2 guests and having double bedroom, kitchen, private bathroom and shared access to the individual terraces with views over the mountains and the beautifully peaceful bay of Assos.
This studio ( Studio 1 ) benefits from a double walk in shower, a separate kitchen door, double doors to the terrace featuring a relaxing 'Sunset ' bench.


These beautiful, boutique style studios are finished to the highest standard of style and comfort with air conditioning, luxury kingsize double beds with top quality mattresses,sleek modern kitchenette and separate bathroom.
Katafygio Studios enjoy a private location on a quiet village lane and yet offer breathtaking views and only a 2 min walk to the village, tavernas and beach.
*NEW ADDITION* There is a new family bakery opened in the village full of all the usual delights - and this is just 60 seconds from your front door!
Assos is the perfect place to relax and unwind but we would highly recommend renting a car if you plan to do a little exploring.

"When "PERFECT" sounds too poor, to describe our stay at Katafygio
During the tourist-busy time of August, my partner and I, chose to stay at Katafygio in Assos. We booked studio 1 (the one with the bigger terrace), and we couldn't have chosen a more PERFECT location. Situated in the picturesque hills of Assos, overlooking at the Assos bay and the castle, just a 1 min. walk from the seaside , Katafygio is THE IDEAL place to stay . The majority of the other properties in Assos, are situated really close to the main square and seaside, which is filled with tavernas and a cafe, that produce a lot of noise especially during peak hours noon and night. Katafygio on the other side, is situated in the Magical distance from the sea side. Not too far, and not too close. Just one minute away!! This makes the terrace with the mountain and sea view an absolute treat to stay, light the terrace candles and enjoy a calm, starlight, summer night! Perfection indeed. The studio itself is AMAZING. Every modern amenity, wif i, aircondition , full kitchen, fridge, an amazing bathroom. Did I mention the bed? super comfy bed and mattress and pillows of the ideal thickness that your neck will thank you next morning :) Every little detail that a guest might need, is already taken care by Dot and Steve ,that includes mini led flashlight, if you like night strolling, umbrellas, even a Beach bag to carry your stuff to the seaside!!!! The studio breathes an air of "Greece". The island house vibes are everywhere and the subtle details show the love and care that Steve and Dot share in order to make the guests' stay memorable! Assos, in my opinion is the best place to stay in Kefalonia and it is so close to the more elegant villages of the north, 10' mins drive from the world famous beach of Myrtos, Also, it is an amazing destination for Easter Holidays (mid to end of April). it was a wonderful and romantic travel in Assos. Dot and Steve are very careful and kind personns. the studio is perfectly located in Assos to have a beautiful view, a quiet room and an easy access to restaurants and the beach. It s also the most beautiful part of the island that you can very easily from the village. The studio is clean, so confortable and charming.

Absolutely the best !
These two apartments in Assos are truly amazing. All designed and furnished to the most exacting standard by the hosts Steve and Dot. Only a stones throw from the beach and restaurants and you pass a new coffee shop / patisseria only 60 yards from your studio on the way to the beach. Walk out of your bedroom to a stunning view over Assos bay. Truly spectacular. Book it ! It’s the best.

Simple fabulous!
We are just back in the UK, following a totally wonderful trip to Assos, and the beautiful Katafygio apartments, hosted by Dot and Steve! We stayed in Apartment 1, which is compact, but perfectly proportioned for 2 people. It also has a lovely terrace, with views over the town and sea - a stones throw away! Dot and Steve are very welcoming hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. The apartment is beautifully appointed, with an amazingly comfy bed and pillows- a rarity in Greece! The town, with excellent tavernas, shops and restaurants and a beach with sunbeds and parasols, is literally 5 minutes walk from the apartment. We would highly recommend The Three Wise Monkeys restaurant, for outstanding food and lovely cocktails! In short- Katafygio Apartments are the perfect place to base yourself, for a totally relaxing experience - we would definitely recommend and return!

Exactly as advertised-highly recommended
2 weeks at Steve and Dot’s studio - magical! Property was spotless and beautifully decorated with lots of extra little finishing touches. Excellent location, literally a minute from the beach, restaurants and shops. Assos really is a very special little place and Steve and Dot were always around if we needed them but unobtrusive…they also play some gorgeous music from their upstairs home, turn that music up! Can’t rate this property or hosts more highly. Not one to revisit somewhere I’ve been but I could definitely make an exception to that rule for this property. Massive thanks to both Dot and Steve for allowing us to share their Kefalonia dream.

A lovely stay
We had a lovely stay in Steve & Dot's apartment which is a few minutes walk from the local restarants and seafront, yet in a very peaceful spot. The apartment is small but has everything you need for a comfortable stay and it has been beautifully furnished and decorated. This is our second time back to Assos because we love it so much. We found the maps and guidebook super helpful and we visited some fantastic little bays during our stay too. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday.

Katafygio Apartments July 2023
This is truly one of the loveliest and most convenient spots in Assos, with great views of the bay and the fort, set back on a quiet street, and only a minute away from the shops, tavernas and beaches of the village. The apartment is cosy and beautifully furnished, with lots of storage space, good bathroom fixtures (including shower!) and a convenient kitchenette. The terrace is the star of the show and looks like a postcard of a Greek holiday, perfect for relaxing outside in the heat, though you can always escape to the room to enjoy the air con! Finally and most importantly, Steve and Dot were wonderful hosts! Extremely friendly and took a real interest in our stay, giving spot on recommendations around the village and the island (take their advice on tavernas!), as well as offering some history of Assos itself. They were always inviting and accommodating (even when I kept locking myself out the room!). Would love to return in the future to this perfect little Greek escape.

Wonderful Stay at Katyfygio
We’ve just had a one week stay in Assos at the Katyfygio Studios. We stayed in Studio 1 which had a huge terrace with lovely views over Assos bay. There were lovely flower pots and plants and little nik-naks typically Greek it was idyllic. On our door was a little Welcome plaque saying Welcome Hazel and Derek. It was a lovely touch to the start of our holiday. The studio has everything you need for a perfect stay. It is spotlessly clean and Steve and Dot the hosts are so helpful and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. We felt so lucky that we found these idyllic studios and even though they are in an elevated position it is only a short walk (approx 2 -3 mins ) down the hill into Assos village. Of course it is up hill on the way back so you need to be fairly mobile. Assos is a real gem it’s very picturesque, and has some lovely restaurants it is fairly laid back of an evening. In the day if you feeling energetic you could try a walk up to the castle ruins. We can recommend staying in Assos and the Katyfygio Studios. Hazel and Derek

Our week away at Katafygio studio, was in a lovely, picturesque village in Assos. The taverna’s all made us very welcome and the food was very good. The studio was very clean, and the owners very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Charming hosts, Steve and Dot are very helpful and responsive. Comfy bed, good shower, pretty terrace with views of the harbour, the fortress and the hills. Great when you can be outside most of the time and you like to eat out - kitchen facilities are very basic. The two studios are close together and you don't have complete privacy. Assos is one of the nicest spots on the island.

Lovely apartment in paradise!
We immensely enjoyed our stay in this lovely property! It was just as advertised and our hosts were so attentive and kind. The location within Assos is ideal with restaurants and grocery shopping well within walking distance. The only watch out is that the Wi-Fi is pretty sketchy. Not that you need to be on Wi-Fi in paradise, but just in case.

Perfect accommodation in charming surroundings
Dot and Steve took hosting to a whole new level! So friendly and always helpful with great advice on places to visit according to our interests, or fabulous places to eat, but they also left us alone to relax and enjoy our stay - they got that fine balance just perfectly right. The studio was charming and never have I visited a holiday rental where simply everything we may need was anticipated and provided. Spotlessly clean too! Spotlessly clean apartment, good bathroom. Small kitchenette. Very comfortable bed. The only issue we had was the lack of inside space to sit down, the only option is to eat outside or sit on the bed. Dot & Steve were lovely hosts, very friendly & helpful. Assos is a beautiful village with a good choice of places to eat, a car is essential the roads are fine once you get used to the hairpin bends!

We absolutely loved our stay in Assos with Dot and Steve. The villa was gorgeously decorated and nestled just above the beach and main square making it easy to stroll into town for some shopping, some food or a swim in the harbour. Dot and Steve were very lovely and accomodating and had a lot of great beach recommendations! We highly recommend staying here if you have a holiday in Kefalonia, thank you Dot and Steve x

Loved our stay with Dot and Steve at Katafygio, they really care that everything is perfect. It's in a great location in Assos with views down to the bay and across the village. Dot and Steve have thought of everything you might need, the studios are brilliantly well equipped. We loved the terrace, and spent a lot of time there just chilling out. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the whole property is well maintained, clean and looked after. We can wholeheartedly recommend.

Absolut perfekt um den Alltag zu vergessen und so richtig zu entspannen!
Dot und Steve sind die besten Gastgeber die wir je hatten! Wir waren im Studio 1 welches sich perfekt für Paare oder Alleinreisende eignet. Es ist wirklich alles vorhanden und wenn doch mal was fehlt kann man Dot und Steve immer fragen, sie helfen wo sie können. Das Dorf Assos ist wunderschön! Es gibt eine kleine Einkaufsmöglichkeit und einen Geldautomaten. Alle Menschen auf der Insel sind unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit, was ich so noch nicht erlebt habe. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!

Charming apartment in a charming village
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dot and Steve’s lovely studio in the village of Asos. The studio is in a great location with views over the town and just steps from the village itself where there are a couple of tavernas, a small market, and the local beach. We enjoyed the slow pace of the village and appreciated being able to walk to dinner as the road down into Asos is quite steep and full of twists and turns. Fine in the day but challenging at night. There are several great beaches within a short drive from Asos and Dot and Steve have compiled a great local guide. We visited different beaches each day and enjoyed exploring the north portion of the island and then returning home to sit out on the studio’s terrace before dinner. Dot and Steve were great hosts, very friendly and helpful and they have put a lot of care into the two studios, outfitting them with everything one needs and decorating them very simply yet attractively. All and all, a great place to stay in Asos.
