Decent House
Publié le 1 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed staying at a sound house for the first time at the OBX. The main living part of the house was perfectly fine and clean and the rooms were decent size. The exterior of the house and the downstairs could use some attention. As other reviews have mentioned, the siding on one side of the house has melted from a house fire that was next door; curious when they will fix this as it's been mentioned in a few reviews And, I don't know if we just went at a time when the bugs had been unusually stirred up from storms, but I was really surprised by the amount of bugs, spiders and cobwebs that were on the outside of the house. I mean, I'm used to bugs at the beach, but this was just excessive. The exterior was covered in cobwebs and spiders. Perhaps we just went at a time of year that is "buggy." I don't know, I don't have any other visit to compare it to. The house would benefit from some type of pest control, if it's allowed in the area. And, as others have mentioned, the downstairs has an extremely musty smell, to the point, it's unpleasant to be down there, but you can't smell it in the main part of the house, and we just didn't use the downstairs except to set up our fishing equipment. The exterior and the downstairs is what made me rate it overall as a 3. We would stay here again, because it's a quiet neighborhood, but would love to see some improvements to the exterior of the house.

Family stay
Publié le 29 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayNice trip. Overall cleanliness of interior was good. Fishermen must have stayed before us because freezer and fridge had a fishy smell. Put baking soda in both and it helped. They also left a carton of bad bait on downstairs patio which gave a fowl oder on the upper deck. We removed it also and the oder went away after the nights rain.

Bay Breeze Stay
Publié le 21 sept. 2023 sur HomeAwayThe property is in a quiet area. It was fairly clean and certainly comfortable enough and as several reviews mentioned, the neighbors were a delightful surprise.
When we arrived I thought there were very few eating/drinking utensils so I hand washed everything we used. Then I discovered the dishwasher was FULL of dishes! Washed? Unwashed? I didn’t know! And when we went to use the BBQ we found old food, a dirty unit and NO propane!! Bottle empty!! Also, dirty linens it the washing machine.
Calls to management were promptly answered but they were unable to get us any local response until the next day.
One should be able to expect to have the property in complete working order - as advertised - upon arrival.

Publié le 25 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayGood, we got locked out the second day, called the host sent out someone with back up key, changed the batteries and worked great, he noticed the glass hadn't been mowed in a while so someone was out the next day while we were out and mowed. The outside grill gas bottle was empty so we couldn't grill out like we wanted to.

Property itself is pretty much same with pictures Except ping pong table is much smaller than normal size. One thing I want to bring out is terrible communication with Vacasa, home management.
To our surprise, there were no blankets or comforters on beds. To have a proper sleep after long trip, I contacted them as soon as I checked in at 4:00pm. After several callings and texts with robots, finally I was able to speak with a “human” customer service. He said local staff are out of work time so he would send someone next morning But until we checked out in 3 days, nothings was solved. Glass door to the deck was not fixed so we couldn’t properly use deck. we had to use a bathroom towel because there was no paper towel or kitchen towel. We had to sleep without blankets while we stayed there. Next morning I tried to contact them, let them know we still need those items and glass door fix but all texts were automated robots, keep saying “sincere apologies with inconvenience”
Very disappointed with service.
Whole family don’t want to go back there again.

Good if you will be in and out a lot.

Lots of bugs and black stuff all over the glass patio door area, portions of the stripping were disconnected and laying on the ground, and I honestly didn't recognize the property from the photos - only the back yard was shown. The next-door neighbors were incredibly loud and did not observe quiet hours, it was irritating. The back yard has a beautiful view though, and the water was nice to listen to when other people weren't yelling and hollering at each other.

General maintenance lacking
Publié le 26 août 2022 sur HomeAwayWe qualified for early check in but when we arrived the code did not work, it took and hour and a half, three calls to the answering service before they generated another code so we could get in. The on site team never responded. Home and location is decent but the cleaning could've been better, cob webs everywhere throughout the house. Rusty nails were sticking up on a lot of the deck boards and stairs. There were extremely large roaches outside on the deck, we only saw one inside but it kinda kills your vacation vibe. We still had a good time and the home did it's job as a place to lay our heads it just needs some attention, I'm glad there were no major issues because it seems the property management team is not very responsive
