COCO'S COTTAGE - LOCATION & PUPS !!!!!!

"Coco's Cottage" is a classic OBX "beach box" with what you & your dogs need to RELAX and enjoy your time at the beach. Located at MP 6.5, between the roads. Built in 1972, much of the interior remains unchanged, including some of the decor & artifacts! 2 full baths & 2 queen beds, along with 2 twin beds. Comfortable furniture, kitschy decor, front porch and under-house area (picnic table, grill, ice cream maker, shower) lots of kitchen utensils and lots of 'laid back' vibes! Games, books, Wi-Fi, TV's and the same beach & salt air as available at places costing 12 times as much!!
1 block from the Beach Road & 5th St beach access at the LIFEGUARD BEACH. 3 blocks from the Avalon Fishing Pier. Target(with Starbucks!) is at the end of the street, within walking distance. Belk, Food Lion and other shopping is across the by-pass from Target - all within walking distance.
As Granny used to say, "Our house is clean enough to be healthy, and dirty enough to be happy." We hope you can visit and "live like a local" while enjoying all that the area has to offer. Sit. Stay.

Pawfect place
Was a great house to stay in. We’ve been coming to the OBX for decades, and this has to be one of the most convenient spots. Really enjoyed the neighborhood, walk to the beach, and character of the place. One recommendation would be to put the “No linens or towels” provided somewhere more obvious. We missed that memo the first night we showed up. Otherwise it was great and will be back.

Second year was even better!
We stayed at Coco’s last year and decided to give it another shot this year. Don, the host, was great to communicate with before our arrival and during our stay. This property is a great beach box with plenty of supplies provided, including pots, pans and most things that we could need. I will say that didn’t stop us from walking to Target frequently though, which is easy to do since it is located so close to this property. We definitely would recommend this property and this host! Thank you for another great trip!

Amazing Cottage
The description in VRBO is very accurate. It’s an older cottage with paneled walls, but SO charming!! It was a perfect space for our friends and family. The host was extremely polite, helpful and responded in a very short time to answer any questions. We enjoyed the week there with a very short walk to the beach! Can’t wait to return…

We enjoyed our trip a lot. cocos cottage was in a good location and an easy walk to the beach and Target. It’s centrally located in the area and a quick drive to lots of restaurants, stores and activities. The house was good, easy to check in and good communication with Don. It is a little older home but is in a quiet neighborhood and has everything that you would need. We would stay there again and definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a great beach vacation house!

Fun Extended Weekend Trip
The listing is as described and pictures are accurate. Within driving distance to anything you could think of needing and within walking distance to the beach. Plenty of parking space and a hose / shower to rinse off all of the sand after a day at the beach. The host was easy to communicate with and was quick to answer any questions we had. Definitely somewhere that we will consider for future OBX family trips!

Great Stay
Thanks for the stay and only issue was no toilet paper when we arrived. Also, the shower drain the the first bathroom was clogged with hair and other matter that actually could been seen. Simply fix would be to have those that prepare the house for guests to simply clean as if their family members were coming.

Perfect Lowkey Getaway
Me, my husband and his brother stayed recently to attend a wedding in nearby Corolla. Getting to bring our dog was a huge factor and Don was nothing short of pleasant when we spoke. There is a lot of retro charm and the vibes are truly “no frills, just chill”! We weren’t looking for modern high tech and just wanted to relax. What I would call the main feature of this location is the proximity to the beach. Sun, surf and sand were only a block away! While sitting out on the balcony we could hear the waves and the sea breeze was perfect at night! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend.

Great find. Honest host.
A great place to rest after our 11+hr ride from NY. The name says it all. Nothing fancy, but for us thats not what we were looking for. We needed a 1 night stay before our weekly rental opened up on Sat. This home allowed us to all stay in one place that wasn't hotel rooms. Played games and enjoyed the closeness to Wal-Mart and restaurants. The place is dusty and could use some TLC but what we needed. Host was very accommodating by allowing us to stay passed check out time, answering quickly and even checked in on us during our stay. Thanks again. Hope to see you in 2024. GO Bills!!

It was a really nice week, easy walk to the beach, everything you could need (bring your own sheets). KDH is a great area, and this house is perfect. It’s close to everything. Highly recommend.
