What an unforgettable experience! Everyone needs to visit Burgh island at least once in their lifetime!

The staff were effortlessly, smoothly friendly and professional and the surroundings were just beautiful. I liked that all the men were in their black tie suits at dinner-gave it a lovely vibe-and I thought I would feel underdressed but was also made to feel really comfortable. I would say my fish was a bit overcooked and the falafel canape was a little dry, but otherwise the food was delicious (the duck parfait was lovely) and the wine flight was well-thought out and worked with the dishes. The island itself and surrounding beach is just breathtaking and the room (Amy Johnson) was well-themed. Just missing some cups by the sink for toothbrushes ;-) But otherwise, just a brilliant stay.

The one complaint was re the dress code. We had called in advance to find out what we should wear and was told no jeans and trainers.
During our stay other guests were wearing jeans and trainers both in the Nettlefold restaurant during dinner and breakfast.
This was a special trip for us so we were disappointed to find there appeared to be a disregard for the dress code.
We had stressed over what was appropriate for us to wear so seeing others in jeans and trainers was not good.
We really enjoyed our meal in the Nettlefold restaurant and would have dined in there on the other two evenings but it only serves fish so limits choice.
We ate in the Pilchard Inn where the food and service was excellent.
We did have a great stay.
Many thanks to the staff and especially Mr James for making our overall experience fantastic.
