Stylish, contemporary beach cottage very close to the beach with stunning coastal path walks. Located on a popular surfing beach with Bigbury on Sea and Burgh Island only 10 minutes walk away, In season sea front bar and fish and chip beach shack. Just 15 mins walk to Journey's End Pub or 10 mins (tide permitting) to The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island.
The Loft has two bedrooms, One king size double with TV, wardrobe and en suite bathroom with walk in shower. One Twin / King Size Double with wardrobe, TV / DVD. Family bathroom with large shower. Large kitchen and dining area with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, gas hob and oven. First floor large living room, TV / DVD, opening onto a glass fronted enclosed balcony, with table and chairs. The Loft benefits from central heating and private Wi Fi. Private off road parking, outside shower to wash off on return from beach, we can offer safe storage for boards, bikes etc on request. BBQ also available. Quiet, calm location.

Beautifully appointed home with everything you need
We stayed at The Loft for the last week of the school holidays. The communication prior with the owners was very good and the check in process and directions were good. The house has 2 ground floor bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as well as a very well appointed kitchen diner, including walking up liquid , dishwasher tablets and laundry detergent. Everything was beautiful with lots of attention to detail. Upstairs is a lovely lounge and balcony, there is a TV and a cupboard full of board games and another full of DVDs. It was our first time visiting Devon and the only drawback is the access roads to the beaches, including Challaborough. They are often single track with passing places. This made for some stressful driving experiences! Fortunately you have access to Challaborough beach at the end of the road or a 10-15 minute walk along the coastal path to Bigbury and Burgh Island beaches, which became our preferred one, as we ditched the car after a few days. Overall we cannot fault the house and the owners were very kind, and if you’re a confident driver then the location shouldn’t trouble you either.

Amazing break
Just returned from 5 nights at The Loft. Brilliant location, fabulous accommodation. Less than 5 mins from the beach. Property exactly as described. Extremely clean and tidy. Owners really friendly and nice touch with the discount at the beach shop just round the bay. Lovely upstairs sitting area. Great fish and chips just off the beach. Would love to visit again.

We have just returned from the most amazing week. The location of the house to the beach made the holiday, it is literally minutes. We spent the week on the beach as had beautiful weather. We took the SUP to the beach daily, the weather meant we had calm waters. Russel and Amanda were fantastic hosts.

A perfect retreat
The Loft is beautifully decorated, with everything you'll need for your stay. My teenage daughter was very happy with the high end mirror in the bathroom. It was clean and tidy. There are plenty of games and books to read. Fully equipped kitchen, not what everyone needs for a break away but I was able to wash my youngest daughters t-shirt (favourite t-shirt) so she could wear it everyday. The balcony was protected from the elements and was a comfy place to sit and relax. Lots of lovely walks and places to eat. Thank you

Absolutely amazing stay, Russell and as great with his communication and help….even on the morning we left he text to say would need to come in via a different road as the wind had cause havoc to the caravan park next door. The loft is absolutely perfect, right by the beach and beautiful walks.The kids loved it and so did we. Can’t wait to come back again

Beautiful house, great location
Really enjoyed our stay. A beautifully managed home - cosy space to relax in the evening, well provisioned kitchen and good size bedrooms - and hosts very welcoming (scones on arrival!). Location fantastic for both Challaborough and Bigbury beaches. Kids loved it.

Great place to stay very close to the beach so easy to pop in and out if weather isn’t great. We had mixed weather so ment we could just go to beach when the sun came out. Nice property with all the things you require for a great stay. If you do go you must go eat at the journeys end inn it’s a great pub with very good food.

Well furnished, comfortable, private holiday home just 85 yards from the beach and stunning coast line. It's quiet too although there's a 'pub' and shop just round the corner with a further lovely, foody pub just 20 mins walk away.

Great Location
We have just stayed for a week at The Loft. For us the location was perfect - we were footsteps from the beach and swam in the sea everyday. the beach is a nice size and wasnt overcrowded even in the heatwave. and the sea was friendly enough for everyone to have a daily swim. Yes you need a car if the weather is not great but there are fantastic walks all within walking distance. The hosts were extremely welcoming and made us all feel very relaxed. thank you

Excellent modern property just metres from the beach. Location of property was quiet, private but also central. Challaborough Bay was lovely with great access to Bigbury & Burgh Island, and decent walks on the coastal path, for great scenic views and a very good Pub, The Journeys End. Access roads to Challaborough were a bit narrow, but apart from that everything else about our weeks holiday was first class. Hosts were friendly and helpful when needed. In summary excellent holiday, in a first class property in a lovely location.
