lake house review

The deck over the water was a great place to relax and enjoy the water activities. Just sad we didn't book for a longer stay. Parking was a little shy but sufficient for our 2 cars

Nice Property
Publié le 8 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayWhile the overall house itself was nice, comfortable, and furnished well, we had only luke warm to cold water for showers, and the floors were extremely dirty. The dock area, boat house, and yard needs attention. The grass was 4"-6" tall, sand covering the back stairs down to the lake, a lot of splintering and rot on the deck and boat house. There was no mention of the boat house/lift being too small for most of today's boats, as well as it was not told to us until we rented the unit that a boat could not be tied up to the dock for an extended time due to the rough nature of the river. We rented a house on the water so that we could keep our boat on the water for easy access while there for our stay. Having to trailer the boat back and forth to a ramp 15 mins away any time we wanted to use it was an extreme nuisance and should have been mentioned in the listing. While our overall stay was nice, I wouldn't recommend renting this house if you intend to bring a boat and use it consistently during your stay.

It's good to know that you found our home comfortable and well furnished but we apologize for the issues that detracted from your visit. We shared your comments with the local manager who assured us they will pass your comments about the dock area to the homeowner. They noted that the grass is mowed and inspected regularly but they will check on your concern. They will also update the online listing to make sure the size of the boat lift is included. We apologize for any cleanliness details missed and for the sand on the stairs to the lake and this has been addressed. We hope you will allow us the chance to provide you with a truly exceptional vacation experience in the future.
