Just a room
Publié le 28 juill. 2024 sur HotelsIt was more of a room without the hotel services because the hotel is now only open at weekends and we stayed on a Monday. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Not much else to say.

It was a nice quiet, clean, ideal for walks & lovely scenery, small village place to stay. A little confusion with booking was very quickly & warmly resolved. Stayed 1st night here then did a night in Kirkcudbright next after walking there & back from this property. Passed a lot of cows on our walk & the saying is very true "nosey cows" made us lol......

Publié le 10 sept. 2023 sur HotelsThe landlady was lovely. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal we had was good too. The menu is very extensive and reasonably priced. Everyone was friendly and the service was good. The rooms were not clean, smelly and tired. The bathroom was not clean. We didn’t complain because we were staying with friends and they booked the accommodation. So we didn’t want to cause any upset for them. A mixed review really. We understand that the owners are new, so let’s hope that they do a good job of improving things.

Staff were all friendly & helpful.
All meals home cooked & good value.

The area is a nice area however there was a problem with a loud live feed/music broadcast coming from room No.2 of 3 rooms, through the wall in the property from 1am until 4am. The owners said there was nobody staying in the room and the TV wasn't on standby but removed the plugs from socket to make sure. They were perplexed what it might be despite hearing recordings (possibly a staff member making some extra cash through the night?) and offered a refund as I didnt stay the last night of 3.
However when I asked them to refund through Expedia no further contact and a message from Expedia they couldn't be contacted so no refund given.
I wasn't planning to leave a review as they are just starting out however after the experience and no response I felt it best to let people know just in case it happens to others.
