Thanksgiving
Publié le 1 déc. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis was our 5th year staying at OBX for Thanksgiving week and we just signed up for our 6th. Love the place! Each year brings surprises of upgrades that keep the property current and nice. The walk to the beach takes 2 minutes and the town of Duck is just down the street. Couldn't be better.

Publié le 21 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay! The location was just perfect for our family. The beach is just steps away, shops and restaurants a short walk down the road. The house itself was a perfect base for our family (grands, adult “kids”, 2 lil ones and our fur baby). Having great weather in November was an added perk! We would definitely stay again!

Won’t stay anywhere else….
Publié le 15 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayI’ve been coming to the outer banks every summer for almost 20 years & this fall trip was by far my favorite trip in all those years! The locals are gatekeeping the OBX in the fall & I’m sad I haven’t found this specific house sooner! Host was very easy to communicate with & was very prompt in responding. Upon arrival to the house, check in with the keyless entry was efficient. The house smelled so clean and was literally spotless! I’ve stayed in ALOT of different places & this one by far surpassed cleaning perfection. The house was equipped with everything in terms of the kitchen. The house even had odds & ends things that you usually end up buying while there (salt and pepper, handsoap, cleaning supplies, foil, paper towels, etc of things that were left over from prior guests). The house is beautiful & the location couldn’t be anymore convenient in distance to the beach if it were ocean front itself. You can see the waves from the top floor and hear it throughout the house. The pool/hot tub area is perfect! It’s lit up with lights, all outdoor furniture was very nice and abundant. Outdoor showering area is very private & convenient as well! The feel of the house is very well thought out and perfect for any family! Duck is the cutest little town as well. There is plenty of cute shops & eats within walking distance to the house, it’s only about a half mile down the road. The boardwalk is also cool just in town! WILL BE BACK! :)

Family wedding
Publié le 27 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayLoved having bathrooms for every bedroom. We had six to eight people in the house at any time and we were never cramped. Lots of space to hide away and read a book. I was surprised to find chairs for the beach which I must have missed when I looked earlier. Great time watching the sunrise. We would love to return one day!

Awesome Place

Great Location, Not Clean Enough
Publié le 9 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe house appears as pictured. Comfortable stay with enough space for our group (4 adults, one toddler). Excellent location as it’s just steps from the public beach entrance. Super quiet neighborhood and easy walk to the main thoroughfare for dining, shopping, etc.
Main complaint is about cleanliness upon arrival. There was sand in all the living spaces upstairs and down (we entered with bare feet so we know we didn’t drag it in). Appliances were not wiped down. Greasy finger prints on the fridge, microwave, and stove. Crumbs on the stove top. Spills left on the cabinets and floors. It seems like all they did was clean the bathrooms (thankfully they were clean), and vacuum the carpeted area.
There was dog food or cereal under the couch so I had to vacuum that up myself. In the process I accidentally stepped on a floor vent that had a plastic cover and my foot fell right through into the vent. Both my daughter and I cut our feet from accidentally stepping on that vent right in front of the sliding glass door.
I messaged the host with the list of issues. He said he’d pass the feedback along to the cleaners and did not acknowledge the injuries or offer to make anything right (such as offering to send the cleaners back). It’s a shame because it’s a great location, but due to the host’s indifference we will not be back.

We're sorry that your stay at OBX Box was not everything that you had hoped for. We have passed on your comments to our cleaners. Given that the house had been fully occupied for three+ months before this stay, we believe that the cleaners do a good job to keep the house in good condition, particularly in the short time available between guests for a succession of same day turnovers.
