Very clear instructions by emails after booking.
Effective communication by English via email or face to face. Very helpful staff.
Excellent cleanliness in common area.
Walking distance to both train stations and has bus stop in front of the hostel.
Has hot water, coffee & tea supplies & clear instructions on cooking ramen by microwave oven.
Could be better if there is a pantry for simple cooking with an individual sink.
Will return to this hostel when revisiting Mt. Fuji area again
Really friendly staff. Awesome spot. Really felt like a true hostel experience. Very clean. Never had a problem with anything during my stay. I would stay again and recommend to anyone who was travelling in the area!
The place is totally clean and friendly, tha attention and willingness to help of the staff and owner is totally worth it... But at least my bed was squicking all night long even if i moved the neck a bit, so for people with light sleep like me it was a rough night.
I would totally come back to the place tho... just a little maintenance might be needed for the wooden bunks
It was ok, the room smelled funny, wouldn’t choose it again. The staff were warm and friendly but misunderstood us and directed us incorrectly. That was frustrating. The place was clean and comfortable besides the strange room smell and poor lighting. It’s what I would expect for the price.
Highly recommend this hostel for anyone staying around the Fuji area! As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by the friendly staff, who all spoke English. I was shown a tour of the hostel which was helpful and got to choose which bed to stay in (tip - don't sleep next to the dehumidifier, it's got a constant hum, the hostel is not to blame for this!). Michael was very helpful when providing info and tips about climbing Mount Fuji, without his guidance I wouldn't have been able to climb. Nice and quiet area which has good transport links within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again!
We stayed in the private room which was comfortable and big enough. Has room for your bags, fridge and aircon. Staff speak English and are friendly. Has a cool restaurant down below that you can play darts or just chill. Hostel is super close to the station. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Be brave and go into non English ones! Walking distance to Fuji Q highland- no need to bus. 711 just Down the road
Start by understanding you are booking a hostel, and then prepare to be presently surprised when you arrive. The staff spoke English like a first language and was very helpful beyond what is required just for an overnight stay.
The bathroom and showers were very clean and they even have a small laundry.
The location is very convenient near the rail station.
They only nit i have is the mattress could have used a bit more cushion, but when I compare what I got with what I paid the value was amazing.
I complained about the long hairs stuck on the blanket. Even though my room was a private room, I was exposed to noise even after midnight. I made a reply for my stay. And then I received a mail from the owner, Michael, who said to me aggressively. He asked me why I did not say to his staff for the dirty blanket and the noise. I scolded me for not complaining for the problem right away and not for staying at a hotel for a quiet room. Other hostels provide quiet private rooms even though they are not hotels. I have never seen such a rude owner before.
Michael was very friendly, attentive, the location was close to train station, the rooms offer a local Japanese experience. It feels like being home in Japan. Thanks Michael!

For the Fuji climbers
The neighborhood can be a bit boring as most of the places are closed by 9pm. THe + would be they have a small corner for coffee and stuff. And there's a fridge too. Curfew are at 10pm.
The staff are kind and very helpful. I really enjoy staying at Mt Fuji Hostel Micheal's.

Far away from me fuji.
This hostel was a long way from no where, and there was very little to do or see in this town.
We should have stayed in Kawguchiko which has a lot to offer and unrestricted views of Mt Fuji and access.
The place is very cosy and we'll maintained. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Chandre was fabulous and could speak fluently in English. There are various shops around the area. There is a family restaurant operated by an old Japanese couple that serves fabulous home cooked Japanese meals just opposite the hostel. We enjoyed the stay very much.Highly recommend! !

I was given a key for locker number 10 for valuables, but accidentally inserted it into locker number 9, and the locker opened. When I told the staff about this, they gave me another key for number 10, and when I tried opening locker number 9 again, it opened. The staff member said, "But we haven't had any problems so far."
