Chambres vieillotes et pas très propres. Vieille clim. Plein centre. Ne pas prendre une chambre qui donne sur l'avenue principale => bruyant en journée. Wifi aléatoire. Prix excessif pour ce que cela propose … mais pas vraiment d'autres choix pour ce tarif. Personnel sympa. Peuvent arranger des tours. Font resto : bonne pizza !!

Can get to Rabaul on public bus, free shuttle from airport, convenient, near market.actually has free wifi for my stay. Lose power pretty often, but it is not the hotel's fault. Aircon and ceiling fan are fine. Get a room away from the loud generator.

I enjoyed my stay. My room was alway clean and towels change daily. My room was spacious with air conditioned. Free breakfast was exceptional. And it's was the cheapest in town.

I was meant to have paid Aus $95.42 per night through hotels.com, but the hotel said they hadn't received my booking and end up charging me Aus $158 per night, the fish was over cooked, the salad consisted of about 2 tablespoons of coleslaw and a handful of chips, the waitress was very pleasant as well as the older receptionist who refused to charge me the Aus $95.42. if you want a better hotel with more value and better rooms and food use the Rapopo Plantation Resort,m they also have a bus shuttle to and from the airport

Ok but can easily be improved

You get what you pay for - certainly prices in PNG too high for the product supplied - but Taklam lodge meets short term business travelers needs - clean comfortable air conditioned rooms - in deluxe section. Situated in middle town opposite bustling market Food good in restaurant - fresh and nicely prepared. Dessert not available although on menu. Service very slow but it appears that one staff member was working day and night with little break - need another waitress/waiter to help - especially when there is an influx of guests from cancelled flights as occurred on both nights I was there No wifi but it is poor on the island anyway
