The unit itself was very nice. The bubbly, re-usable bags and snacks upon arrival were a lovely touch. The location of the property was excellent, close to everything. Leading up to our arrival, property management was friendly and communicative.
The unit itself was nice, the lanai opens to lawn area overlooking the ocean, which was great. The master bedroom faces the sea, offering amazing views. The master had its own a/c unit, which is great for keeping that room cool (there is another a/c unit in the main living area as well). The second bedroom is furthest from the ocean and did not have its own a/c unit, which was perfectly fine, as it had slatted windows that could be kept open for airflow. Only issue with this is that the windows face the main walkway and other guests were inconsiderate when walking in the walkway past the windows, having loud conversations at all hours of the day and night. Not at all the fault of the property of course, but made for some disruptions during our stay. We had a few other issues with other guests being obnoxious, smoking by our unit, etc., but this had more to do with inconsiderate people staying adjacent to us—again, not the fault of the property. It is an older complex, as most in the area are, but it is well kept and the pool is great. Just know that at this property, sounds seem to travel, so if noise caused by loud guests, elevators, or maintenance people yelling to one another is a concern, it may not be a good fit.
Parking was competitive, stalls were kind of small and other guests consistently parked outside of painted lines, which only made it harder to fit into the limited number of spaces. There are two lots, upper and lower, with the lower lot seeming to be more popular given it was closer to the units. We didn’t have a problem, but saw others struggling to navigate with their vehicles.
Our biggest issue has been with getting our refundable deposit returned. After not receiving it 10-days after our stay, we contacted them multiple times to request an update. We received an email saying it was being refunded, but we still don’t have the funds. HI law requires deposits to be returned within 14 days after relinquishing the premises, today is day 13 and we are still waiting. We aren’t too happy about having to contact them about it, and definitely not pleased with how long it’s taken to be processed.
Overall, our experience was a 4 out of 5. Would I stay here again? Maybe.
