Publié le 2 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayAs advertised: gorgeous views, quiet complex, great pool, and quaint condo. I agree with a previous renter that some basic maintenance is in order. And I would also suggest more linens, both kitchen and bathroom: not enough there if a week or more stay. The price is hard to beat and we had a fabulous time. Would definitely stay again. Publié le 11 août 2024 sur HomeAwayGreat location! Can’t beat the view from lanai! Unit is comfortable, but unfortunately overdue for an upgrade. Popcorn ceiling texture is peeling - hope it’s not asbestos. Kitchen spoons, forks, etc are like tin. Corkscrew doesn’t work. Someone’s bathing suit was left hanging on bathroom door. Shower control needs work. A suitcase rack would be handy.

I was sad to learn that Bill and Marilyn were not completely satisfied with my Mele Moana--and most concerned to read of ceiling peeling! I always carefully maintain a clean and safe home for my guests, but, despite prompt and repeated investigation, no one has yet been able to locate any peeling of the popcorn ceiling for me to address! I have left the popcorn ceiling intact (and painted it for additional containment assurance) specifically to enhance soundproofing from the one story above mine; when they remodeled and replaced carpeting with solid flooring, that only exacerbated the potential noise disturbance overhead. It is particularly important to me that my guests understand that my unit is NOT remodeled and I do not want my Kauai home to have a sterile, modern hotel/ resort feeling. I present clearly in my written description and photos exactly what my Mele Moana is--I regularly update, add to and replace my retro-Hawaiian decor and household supplies and equipment, to maintain an attractive, fully functional and very comfortable beach home in Kauai. For prospective guests reading this review and considering my property, please know that my Mele Moana is exactly what I present on my listing, and if you aren't looking for resort-modern, I believe you will find my Mele Moana to be a most cozy and complete home away from home for your stay in Kauai. Nice central location

A perfect stay

The kitchen had everything you could want to prepare meals and we especially appreciated the availability of beach towels, chairs and umbrellas. The location is within walking distance of the beautiful Poipu Beach where we saw sea turtles and seals. We would defiantly stay there again.

Incredible views! It was spectacular to be at your place during the last blue moon. Would on have to turn my head to watch the moon set on the ocean while laying on the bed.
If I were to suggest something, I would say:
1. Your place is so spectacular that I would suggest a light remodeling if you can.
2. I would not keep old food in the fridge from previous gets. Some dry spices at the cabinetry only.
3. Did miss that welcome coffee and a small bottle of water that most VRBO places have.
Just my candid suggestions.

Great location!
Publié le 7 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed our stay! This rental has a great ocean view and is conveniently within walking distance to both Poipu and Brennecke Beach. We saw turtles, monk seals, and fish at Poipu, which is a very calm beach and great for snorkeling (note that the ocean floor is very rocky here). Brennecke is a sand bottom beach with high surf and was great for body-boarding.
The only negative (which we were warned about by the host) was that we had trouble getting into the driveway without scraping the underside of our rental car. Even so, the scrapping was pretty negligible and went unnoticed when we returned the rental car, but just something to note.

Perfect spot in the best side of the island
Publié le 18 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayThis was a great spot to stay. Plenty of space for two people. Beaches within walking distance and grocery within a 5 minute drive. Our favorite part was the balcony. We spent every morning drinking our coffee and eating our breakfast on the balcony. Beautiful view!!!! The photos do not do it justice. No complaints. Great communication, very clean, parking spot included, and no loud neighbors. South Kauai is the best place to stay.
