Dated property
Publié le 8 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe furniture is old and rather faded. The view is partial ocean and approaching road. Great modern counter appliances with old burners on stove and old refrigerator. The bed is very comfortable. Furniture everywhere is dated. Honestly the whole property looks worn out. We did fine but I would never stay here again.

Aloha Judy, and mahalo for your review. We have communicated your concerns to the owner of the home to discuss possible upgrades. Please note that the living room furniture is not old, but is made from rattan, which has a patina. We're sorry you were disappointed.

Not Worth It
Publié le 5 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis place is very run down. There were cable/tv outlets dangling from wall with no covers, multiple cords plugged into power strip just lying behind tv stand. Not appealing too look at, and a fire hazard. Cable was running along bottom of sliding door, and collecting dirt/sand. Does not look like it was cleaned in ages. 2 camp style chairs on lanai very torn and tattered. Afraid too sit in, they would probably have collapsed/torn through.2 wood chairs and table on lanai that were very weather beaten and unstable to use. Corner cabinet door in kitchen came apart any time it was opened. Tea kettle very dirty and covered with rust. Dresser in bedroom was held together with duct tape and very beat up. Dresser in bedroom closet was falling apart as well. Refrigerator was very beat up and dirty all around outside. Shower head/faucet were very old and did not function well. Stove/oven very old, burners dirty, sat uneven, hard to use. Parking lot is very small. tight, and most people take up more then 1 spot. This place needs major remodel. Have photos of all, VRBO does not have a way for me to post them. Entry way, and laundry, for complex was very beat up and filthy. Check-in procedure was not correct for getting parking pass. Needs to be updated.

Sisters trip
Publié le 2 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayBeautiful view from condo. My two sisters annd I enjoyed visiting the island- drove all around to the beaches and Waimea Canyon. Enjoyed a wonderful Easter church service, good food, JoJo’s shave ice and saw the sea turtles come and rest on the beach.

Very dated property
Publié le 13 août 2023 sur HomeAwayThe condo was small. The only way 3 of us could sleep there was to use an uncomfortable, stained, pull out sofa that had to have been 40 years+ old. There was not one comfortable place to sit or lay down & the chairs made creaking sounds. When you can never relax, it makes for an exhausting trip. By the end of our stay, construction had commenced on the condo next door - it was loud, but at least someone was updating their rental. Additionally, there were notices threatening a fine if any sand was found in the condo (on the coast of Kauai). We spent too much of our stay cleaning. By the time we left, it was cleaner than when we arrived.

Aloha Kim, and mahalo for your review. We're sorry you were disappointed with the home, which is 750 square feet in area and not "small" for a one-bedroom condominium. Please note that we specifically indicate that the home has one king bed and and a sleeper-sofa. Sleeper-sofas are never as comfortable as a bed, and are intended as secondary bedding. You would have been better off renting a home with 2 beds instead. The home was last updated in 2019. Regarding the condominium complex and their sand warning, please note that you should wash off at the beach before entering the grounds as a common courtsey.

Great location
Publié le 14 juin 2023 sur HomeAwayHaving spent 4 weeks on the island and gone everywhere, the location of this condo was perfect. All the boxes were checked with the exception of the beach chairs, very worn and old , and the lack of a beach umbrella.
The management were incredibly responsive.
If I return to Kauai again ,I would definitely consider staying at this same place.

Fabulous views !
Publié le 9 mars 2023 sur HomeAwayVery quiet with on site managers that kept the grounds pristine. We had stayed in the area before and have taken in the natural attractions. This time we needed rest and relaxation and this condo was perfect for that!

Would absolutely stay again.
Publié le 14 févr. 2022 sur HomeAwayWhat a fantastic, affordable place to stay. With just a little rearranging for furniture we were able to set up a cozy seating area on the lanai to whale watch and moved the TV nice and close to the sofa where we watched all the humpback documentaries we could find via the “smart” TV and our own streaming app logins. The AC in the main room and bedroom works well, cooling the unit off quickly so be sure to turn it off when you leave to save electricity.
We loved not having to walk more than a few hundred steps and up one set of stairs to this second floor unit. There is an elevator in the lobby for moving larger items but we found the stairwells more accessible. There are washers and driers on all floors at 2.50 per load, quarters only. Didn’t have any trouble with availability. Location was great, 5 minute drive to Poipu beach, .5 mile walk to the shops at Kukui’ula and a 6 minute drive to the Big Save grocery store in Koloa.
The unit had an umbrella, two tall beach chairs, a beach mat, and a cooler in a closet (I’d imagine this varies slightly between visitors). We normally drink tap water at home, and found this tap water to have just a hint of a taste to it, but we picked up a filter for the Brita pitcher in the cupboard and were happy with water. No ice maker, but we kept up a good supply by throwing the 13x9 pan in the freezer and dumping and filling when the new ice was ready. There are two Weber Genesis grills in the parking lot, near the dumpsters. Property management was responsive to requests, and brought us a few items we needed (rice cooker and floor fan) within 1 business day.
We found very few negatives. To some, the furniture in the unit might seem a little tired as it shows significant signs of wear. The bathroom is small and the shower head was low for my 5’10’ frame. The cookware options were on the cheap end, but pretty much everything was available that we needed. The only thing missing was access to a pool/hot tub for a nightly dip… But the ocean is literally right there and man was it beautiful.
All in all, this is the kindof unit needed on the South Shore. From what we could find, it’s one of the most affordable condo style units with a view to rent near Poipu. I applaud the owners for keeping the prices as low as they can, and not letting the temptation of minor upgrades ultimately out-price the average American traveler. Kudos to you! We would 100% stay here again.
