Not a real "Home stay"

Pour : proximity to the heart of the city
Contre : If the house and surroundings are cleaned properly and a provision for breakfast is included, would do better.
Emplacement : You can travel to any place of tourist importance, like Kumarakom, Vagamon, Kuttikkanam etc.
It is a room in an unkempt old house, with no security at night. No breakfast included. Expedia showed three rooms, 2 AC rooms and one non AC. We booked AC room making full payment online. At the time of check out the caretaker asked us to pay extra money for the room, saying it is a special room. We felt it is too much for that kind of facility.

Lovely large room in a beautiful old home in Kotta

Stayed for one night as a stop over so didn't really get to explore the area but the room was lovely, large and airy. Large bed, towels and soap provided along with drinking water. A mosquito plug was provided. The bathroom was great, really clean and toilet paper was provided. The manager Shya (sorry if it is spelt wrong) was lovely, really helpful and made sure we were comfy. A booklet with things to do in the area was provided with some history of Kottayam which was nice to read. The only negatives were the WiFi wasn't strong and the tap to turn on the shower was really stiff, we were worried about breaking it but this problem was sorted out when we mentioned it.
