Hôtel très bien situé, très propre à l'intérieur, bon petit déjeuner (plus pour les asiatiques, mais j'aime), très réactifs en cas de problème dans la chambre, excellente literie, excellent wifi dans la chambre. Un seul bémol, les vitres de la chambre très sales à l'extérieur, on voyait vraiment mal au travers.

Merdeka was in a good location for the touristy spots. However, the staff didn’t really give the feel that they were happy to have us there. They did their job, but there weren’t a lot of smiles or helpful gestures of any kind. Beautiful lobby, but the rest of the building was very dated and in rough shape…great need of a makeover. Price was good, but in this case you kind of got what you paid for. The hotel restaurant and massage parlor were not bad. Over-all I had a rather “meh” feeling, and would most likely opt for a different place if we come to Kuching again (which we will most likely do).

The staff were great however the hotel itself is dated and all furnishing are showing signs of wear and tear. The second elevator giving access to my room 614 was out of order for my 7 days stay.

Old style elegance. Rooms were a good size and comfortable. Very good value for cost.
