A more rustic feel to your stay in Kuching instead of the usual high-rise hotels in concrete buildings with no character. Very central location.
It is also very near to local bars, so it can be quite noisy during Friday and Saturday nights if you get the rooms on Chapel Wing.

L’insonorisation des murs est inexistante. De plus, tant qu’à offrir un déjeuner si médiocre n’offrez rien tant qu’à ça.

This was our second stay at the Marion. It's like spending the night at the museum. You can read the history of the original owner if you spend a few minutes at the waterfront Chinese Heritage Museum. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants on Carpenter St. that can be noisy on occasion. We have stayed in the Chapel wing both stays and we're not bothered by street noise. If noise bothers you you may want to choose a room towards the rear of the property. Seems like people either love or hate this property. Place us with those who love it

Everything was actually very good but there were three things that guests have to be aware of.
1. The climb up to the entrance of the lodge as even steeper climb to the rooms on the second floor (I was ok but not all make like it)
2. The noise from the bars nearby maybe an issue
3. The breakfast. It supposed was to start at 7am and it was 710am when it opened and there was no apology .. nothing and put to 720am, no coffee. Disappointing.

Fascinating building with a really great ambience and located very conveniently for the waterfront and many great dining options. Room was comfortable but being on the 1st floor there was a lot of noise from the room on the floor above (heavy footsteps, things being dragged or dropped), something I guess is unavoidable in an old building.but maybe they could alert guests to be a little more considerate. Also no supplies like soap or hand towels in the bathroom. Shower gel was provided but in an awkward place to reach if you just wanted to wash your hands.

古い建物をリノベーションした、素敵な雰囲気のホテルでした。ほとんどの部屋にテラスがあり、私達が泊まった部屋のテラスからは州議事堂が一望できました。
エレベーターがなく荷物を持って上がるのが大変だったのと、タオル類がかなり使い古されていたのがマイナス点です。

Très bel hôtel mais service inexistant et chambre très bruyante avec aucune insonorisation. C'est vraiment décevant car il est bien placé et plein de charme. Petit déjeuner minimaliste. Aucune communication... Bref dommage
