The best hotel in Maldives
Publié le 26 mai 2016 sur Expedia
Pour : Everything - people, villas, SPA, amenities, chocolate & ice cream rooms, the food! There is nothing in other hotels, which this hotel does not have.
Contre : In the end of May it rains sometimes, but it cannot be improved and I've personally enjoyed it. The weather changes and it has a lot of charm in that.
Emplacement : The capital of the atoll is 5 minutes away on a separate island, thus the island has access to a good hospital, which other island do not.
Truly the best hotel in Maldives. It was the first hotel I've been in Maldives and after that I've seen another 5 hotels: Cheval Blanc, Jumeirah, One&Only, Conrad and etc. It is my second time in Soneva Fushi and I need to say that this hotel is the best on every aspect. World-class SPA, beautiful snorkelling all around the island, huge territory, very private villas, extremely satisfied and professional staff and much more. You can find a lot of components on the other islands in Maldives, but you cannot find an ideal place like that. The owner lives on the island, which tells a lot and treats the place like baby. Sonu, please continue to do the amazing job! You are the best!

Outrageously expensive but 2 star quality...
Publié le 13 janv. 2016 sur HotelsThe stay was horrible, and will not come back. Hotel reservation was rough, i had hard time confirming my stay, local transportation at the beginning. They can't arrange local transportation to carry luggage when we took seaplane. At our first dinner, we had to pay over $5000 dinner for 4, which was not explained prior to our arrival. Visiting entertainers and hotel management staffs seemed to stay at the same villa as other guests, and were using hotel facilities, which seemed very uncomfortable. Our "Mr. Friday" (butler) was inexperienced, and can't tell us details. In general, service quality was poor as for 5 star hotel. Our room air-conditioner broke a couple of times. Every time it happens, we must call an engineer in the middle of the night. they did not offer room exchange, while there were vacant rooms. Maybe other rooms also had air-con issue? We saw cockroaches several times in our room. We ended up carrying 2 small cockroaches in our luggage and found them after we came home....Restaurants open late (normal for European standard, but late for others), so our kids had difficult time to adjust it.

They think of everything!
Publié le 12 nov. 2011 sur ExpediaI stayed at Soneva Fushi for five days and could not have been more impressed. The hotel and staff have thought of absolutely everything; I never found myself saying, "I wish they..." because they left nothing to wish for. Not only do you have the beautiful ocean views (with dolphins swimming past your villa at least once a day when we were there) but the island has many other things to do and explore, either on foot or bike. If you are a spa person, the spa treatments are wonderful.
The only thing people should keep in mind is that the Maldives are expensive. I imagine most resorts are comparable in terms of costs once you arrive (although, you must take a seaplane to Soneva Fushi as opposed to a boat, which can add to the costs). What I can say about my experience at Soneva Fushi is that I felt it was all worth it. And the resort certainly takes great care of its guests - including an unexpected "sandbar cocktail party" hosted by the hotel with champagne, delicious food, etc. The food is expensive but delicious and there is a huge variety, which I wasn't expecting.
I had a perfect vacation and highly recommend this hotel/resort.
