Un posto magico - A magical place...

Publié le 15 nov. 2016 sur Expedia
Emplacement : Vicinissimo al Padiglione d'oro! Quiet area; in a few minutes you walk to the Golden Pavilion; also close to many attractions of the city.
Wonderful Japanese-style Residence, a great chance to learn more about Japanese culture: very original concept & design, a refined reinterpretation of the traditional magical atmospheres. The apartment includes a fully equipped kitchen for every kind of menu. It's possible to take a bath while looking at the small Japanese garden outside the window; read and drink green tea in the rool for tea cerimony. Movie screen with a collection of movies (such as Ozu & Kurosawa). And a very special funny room for children and the whole family. A very kind staff friendly guides to the discovery of the site and provides precious advices. I highly recommend this Residence of deep and mysterious charm, melting pot of ancient & modern culture, with joyful and grateful feeling.

Authentic, stylish and private accommodation.

Publié le 24 oct. 2016 sur Expedia
Pour : This was a very stylish and well designed residence. An authentic experience which is more suited to solo travellers or couples due to the physical size...there were 3 adults in our group and the residence was quite cosy. The owner, Tatsuya, immediately realised this and moved us to another larger property for the second and third nights of our stay at no extra cost. He also arranged a restaurant booking and even paid for a number of taxis to get around Kyoto. His sight-seeing suggestions were top-rate as was his hospitality, as he went out of his way to make us feel most welcome. For larger groups or just some extra space, it is worth checking out the other Theatre Library Residence in Kyoto - Imagumano. It's closer to the centre of Kyoto and to the restaurant precinct.
Contre : A bit small for three adults but this was rectified by the owner at no extra cost by relocating us to another property of similar standard.
Emplacement : The Golden Temple is just up the road as is a great little local gallery, "Polar Star"....well worth a visit.

the director of the residence came to pick us up at the train station, and welcomed us with great efforts, he explained everything in details, helped us booked a restaurant, kimono rental and a lesson with instructor, the residence is located in a quiet neighborhood, you can really feel how the japanese live and their culture style, the house is well decorated with modernized design and authentic structure of the traditional kyoto style house, it's nicely done, the owner tatsuya is also a graphic designer and antique dealer, you can totally see his sense of style throughout the residence, we've also stayed at another residence at imagumano, it's two size bigger than this residence, and three full rooms to stay, this residence is good for a small family of probably three to four, the one in imagumano would fit a bigger family or friends to up to six people comfortably, https://uk.hotels.com/ho580358/?pa=1&tab=description&q-room-0-adults=2&YGF=14&MGT=1&WOE=1&WOD=7&ZSX=1&SYE=3&q-room-0-children=0 i highly recommend this place if you are in the art, design, fashion, culture industry and you wanna have a different experience in kyoto japan, this is definitely the place to stay. I hope you'll find this place as interesting as i did.

Japanese designed masterpiece

This town house in a very traditional Japanese area has been designed in a very traditional and beautiful way where every detail has been meticulously thought through. I loved it and would say it's one of the best places to stay worldwide.

Had an extraordinary stay. The design of the house is amazing and we really enjoyed the real Japanese/Kyoto experience. Our host went out of his way to facilitate our stay and even arranged breakfast, Japanese dinner and a tea ceremony. Thanks again, we had a great time

Incredible way to experience Kyoto.

Publié le 13 avr. 2016 sur Expedia
Pour : Everything. It struck a perfect balance between clean minimalism and feeling like a home. Designed with impeccable sensitivity.
Contre : I have no complaints.
Emplacement : It's near the Golden Temple and a few other things, but Kyoto is a small city, so everything is nearby. Figure it out and enjoy!
This is a renovated Kyomachiya, a traditional kind of house unique to Kyoto, that still has a lot of its original fittings while being renovated to perfect condition. No detail has been forgotten in the design and layout of this house. We felt bad leaving the place to go and see the city! The bathroom is incredible with a huge bathtub that looks out to a small private garden arrangement (the house has two of these, from memory). The kitchen has everything you need, even an espresso machine. The living room has a beautiful antique wooden table, TV and projector screen for watching films (they have a collection of some classic Japanese films by Ozu and Kurosawa). It takes too long to list everything we liked about this place (I haven't even gotten to the secret rooms) but of all the hotels I've stayed at, this is by far and away the best accommodation I've ever stayed in.
