The manager is a total deutcshnag. Incredibly narcissistic a terrible person.
My booking was made several hours prior to my arrival at the property after five pm. I found no one on the property, called the posted number half a dozen times no answer. Was about to leave and find replacement lodging when another guest came in who contacted the manager and was able to get a key to a room. The room was on the third floor no elevator, hot day one tiny and extremely loud air conditioner in the room. TV didn’t work, all night, oh brother!
Next morning manager told me why he didn’t answer my call, but not why he didn’t have my reservation in place on the front desk like two other guests keys and paperwork were in plain view. He began telling me he was the victim and I should leave the property. The guy is insane, demon possessed, delusional and of course sociopathic narcissist.
In the last year I’ve stayed in over one hundred hotels traveling the USA and spent over $30k; this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had.
I believe this manager is a part owner of the property, but have no doubt he is pure evil.

Lovely spot but the sticker price for a pet was pretty high. After booking on Expedia with a no refund option received a notice it would be 5o for cleaning and 25 for pet . He charged me only 5O. Which converted to 78 Canadian. Highest pet charge I’ve seen . Most places in my trip were 20-30

This is the second time we've stayed at this property. They always make you feel so welcome. It's quiet and relaxing. A great stay!

The Heron is a very well maintained vintage building with the creature comforts and customer service to entice me to want to return for a longer visit. There’s ample parking and we were able to plug in our electric car. The lobby area features an appealing lounge with massive fireplace and seating as well as the breakfast dining area. Breakfast was of a good standard with fruit and eggs made to order . The rooms have a mixture of vintage charm and expansive windows along with a nice bathroom with tub and shower . The bedding was sumptuous and the room very clean and thoughtfully appointed . This review would be I complete if I didn’t mention the staff who were very warm and friendly and helpful , just what a traveller needs. The Heron will undoubtedly be the place I want to stay, the next time I visit the charming town of La Connor with its boutiques and galleries.
