Fantastic stay
Publié le 6 août 2024 sur HotelsWe had an ocean front room with a lovely patio. We were able to watch the waves and listen to the sea lions! In order to swim, we just crossed the street and headed to the cove where the sea lions welcomed us into the ocean.
Our room was immaculate and we were very comfortable. The bedding was great and the bathroom was well stocked. We were right next to the rooftop patio and there was a wedding on our first night but we enjoyed the music and it did not disturb our sleep. We took advantage of the same space the next evening to relax and it was wonderful.

Overall was one of my favorite trips. A little confusion on the rooms but Treasure did an amazing job with helping to correct it. Michael also was wonderful as he kept our belongings safe during the room switch and the check out process. I would for sure come and stay again.

SERIOUSLY, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
To start, this hotel seems to be made up of multiple different neighboring properties that had previously been used as apartments or hotels. It seems these neighboring properties have merged to make La Jolla Cove Suites. Check out my photo of the front of the property - the white building on the far left of the image is the newly remodeled part of the property, and La Jolla Cove Suites stretches down the street and includes the red building and the building with the wood shingles.
If you are looking at the website for this hotel or another 3rd party site, you will primarily find images from the newly remodeled side of the hotel. 99% of the images shown show a beautiful hotel. The other images are from other parts of the hotel, like the pool, but disguise the nasty parts of the property or have been doctored to hide stains or make it seem like there is a picturesque view of the ocean.
To my surprise when we checked in, this place was f****ing disgusting. I had been fooled.
Our room was in the shingled portion of the property. First, we had to take an elevator up one level. The elevator was gross, slow, smelled like bad decisions, and I believe it was from the 1960's.
Go to yelp. I am out of characters and can not elaborate any more here. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Classic bait and switch

Relaxing with wildlife

The Queen sized bed was very comfortable and the room appeared to have been recently refreshed. Lighting was especially nice. The sea lions at the rocks across the street barked all night but they WERE there before we were.
