Great Hotel in La Junta

Nice place to stay in La Junta. Rooms are clean and recently remodeled. We have stayed here many times. Staff is great and friendly.

The hotel was clean, but it appears they are renovating it. No sign indicating what hotel it was; there was no front desk, just a folding table with a computer; the room was clean and the bed comfortable, but the AC kept shutting off, with errors on the thermostat (not good when outside temps were reaching 100°; TV would randomly shut off; couldn’t watch anything really as the signal would come and go constantly; the dead bolt on the door was useless, the two halves didn’t line up; the curtains couldn’t be opened as they were nailed to the wall; although the view was nothing to look at, it was a small patch of weeds and the parking lot; was there for a funeral, so asked for late checkout (checkout was right in the middle of the funeral) and they initially wanted us to give all kinds of info to register with their discount club; they finally gave us the late checkout, but failed to mention the key cards get disabled at noon, so coming back at 1245 to find we’re locked out was no fun. All in all, it was a room, I was able to sleep and had a decent breakfast; but definitely not something to write home about.

Even though the property was remodeled… still feels like an old hotel.
