Some drum music at 4 in the morning

Noisy stay!
Posted Aug. 26, 2023 on HomeAwayThe studio is on the 2nd floor of a very ancient house: stairs are narrow, steep and very dangerous if you have big suitcases ! The studio is lovely and comfy BUT situated right above a very noisy bar. Young people partied loudly under our windows until 3 am! If we closed our windows, it cut the noise somewhat but it was way too hot, as the heat was extreme. We did not get much sleep the 2 nights of our stay! We were told to get WiFi from nearby cafes and NONE accepted to give us WIFi. As we have American phones, we could not contact anybody as Messenger and What’sApp need wifi to operate. Very frustrating! Otherwise we loved our discovery of La Rochelle!

Posted Oct. 31, 2019 on HomeAwayChristine & Jean-Noel were awesome hosts. They picked us up and dropped us off at the Gate, the property was very clean and comfortable with considerate little personal touches. Excellent central area for dining, shopping, ATM close by. Highly recommend.

Fantastic location
Posted Aug. 20, 2019 on HomeAwayFantastic studio apartment, central to everything in La Rochelle, 20 metres from bars and restuarants, 200 metres from the beach and 150 metres from the harbour. There was a night club below us but we were fully aware of this when we booked and it was only on a Saturday night. The roof terrace has the sun about 4pm in the afternoon which was lovely with a nice cold beer and a good book to chill out with. Would highly recommend this to any young couple wishing to stay in La Rochelle. From Chris & Shelley (Wales)🏴

Lovely La Rochelle
Posted Jul. 24, 2019 on HomeAwayGreat location but we stayed during the week not on a weekend when the disco next door is open. We were there during record breaking heat so a fan would have been nice. Cute studio apartment, good shower. The owner was very good at staying in touch.

La Rochelle and iles de re/ iles d’aix are fantastic places for a holiday
Posted Aug. 15, 2018 on HomeAwayBig room with pretty basic facilities. Good sized terrace with morning and evening sun. Good shower, decent little kitchen. Bit of basic maintenance needed but clean and perfectly acceptable. We were in peak season over a weekend and not disturbed by noise. Where this studio scores is location, location location. It is 40 metres from the first of many restaurants and bars, 2 minutes from the heart of the port and 5 minutes from the beach. We loved our stay here.

Very nice
Posted Aug. 13, 2018 on HomeAwayTypical French style older house, rather basic furnishings but comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the verandah in the sun and reading my book. Accommodation very central and the disco on Friday evening didn't bother us at all. Super shower.
