Publié le 30 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayEVERYTHING as described and more. Place was so clean you'd of thought we were the first guests. Hosts were very accessible via text during our stay. The construction of this tree house is amazing and detailed. The ability to sit at a fire even during rain was a plus and complete with barn owls calling in the distance at night. Minutes away from a small town with a great breakfast diner, but completely secluded in the woods. We just can't say enough about how cool this place is.

Amazing treehouse adventure
Publié le 23 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayExquisitely designed treehouse nearly 40 ft up in the canopy. Absolutely loved the quiet, peaceful woodland during our 2 night stay. Spent almost all of our time sitting on the sky porch enjoying our surroundings including the babbling brook beneath us. Close to great restaurants, orchards, wineries/breweries and hiking trails complete with waterfalls. Will definitely go back!

Spectacular
Publié le 15 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwaySuch a magical place. Attention to detail was amazing. We cooked a great dinner on the grill down at the lower deck with a nice evening fire and a glass of wine. I was so looking forward to an outdoor shower and this one really hit the mark, a great treat. Highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you to our hosts Tom and Lisa. We will be back. Relaxing stay in a tranquil forest
Publié le 15 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband and I booked the treehouse for an adventurous anniversary getaway. The treehouse was amazing- so quaint and cozy. The tree deck and the pavilion under the treehouse were great places to hang out. Coffee on the tree deck listening to the birds in the morning. Fires, food and drinks at night under the pavilion. We left the treehouse feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Treehouse

However, the compost toilet was inside the treehouse where as other treehouse stays we’ve visited had the toilet outside with the shower. This caused a foul smell inside the cabin and was difficult to Even want to use the bathroom as there were nats everywhere. While the compost toilet is a great idea having it inside where you also eat and make food was not ideal.

Thanks for your comments Brandi. Happy that you enjoyed your stay but sorry you weren’t satisfied with the composting toilet. We are always looking for ways to improve the guest’s experience at the treehouse. When we built the treehouse, we really felt that it would be much better to have a “bathroom” inside the treehouse so we wouldn’t have to walk so far in the middle of the night to go. (My wife was a passionate advocate for this, lol). Consequently, we provided a “bathroom” in the treehouse to avoid this. The bathroom where the composting toilet is located is actually a separate room, (albeit small room), that has its own door so it can be kept closed. The toilet itself has a small computer fan which runs 24/7 to exhaust any odors to the outside coming from the toilet. As long as the toilet is used correctly, (I have extensive instructions included in the Treehouse Manual as well as reminders posted in the bathroom), the bathroom door is kept closed, and the toilet is maintained regularly, odor from the toilet is usually not an issue. (Honestly, you are the first guest to mention this in the 5 years we have been hosting). Thanks for staying with us however and providing us with considerations to improve the guest experience.

Quick Getaway

The mention of the propane stovetop was as a tad deceiving because it was a portable model kept under the stairs on a butcher block cart. Also, the pictures made it seem as if there were 2 places to sit, rather than 1. The pics showed a different pattern in one of them and a different placement of furniture, so we thought there was more than 1 pace to sit. Also, more lighting is needed to read at night.

Michelle, thanks for your comments...I did want to address a couple of them...You indicated that the "mention of the propane stovetop was a tad deceiving". In our VRBO description, this is how we describe it; "For cooking, we provide a propane camp stove and a microwave oven". Again, under "Amenities", "Kitchen", it is listed this way..."Stove - We have a Coleman propane campstove - perfect for bacon and eggs". I'm sorry that you interpreted the "propane campstove" as a "propane stovetop". The last thing that we try to do is deceive people.
Secondly, you said that "the pictures made it seem as if there were 2 places to sit, rather than 1". There is a loveseat couch in the treehouse that easily seats 2 people. There are also 2 stools that can be arranged for seating if needed. Outside of the treehouse, there are 10 different seats. We did leave an older picture in the listing that showed a different loveseat than the one that we have now. I will delete that older picture to eliminate any confusion about the available seating inside the treehouse. Sorry you didn't feel as though there was enough light needed to read at night.

Exceeding my expectations!!
Publié le 15 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOur treehouse stay was more than I expected. The grounds surrounding the treehouse are so peaceful and relaxing. From the sounds of the small stream below to the birds chirping, I loved the serenity. I could not stop smiling the entire time I was there. I was concerned that the treehouse would be hot without air conditioning but with the treehouse being nestled beneath a canopy of tree’s, the provided fan kept us cool at night, even in the middle of our August stay. Everything was perfect.

Birthday fit for a Wood Nymph.
Publié le 7 août 2024 sur HomeAwayI was looking for a place that was ultra-special, and that would not soon be forgotten, to celebrate my wife's birthday, combined with her recent, well-deserved promotion... and, I got it !! The pictures of this place are amazing... but, they actually don't do it justice. Nothing like kicking back with a cocktail, a glass of wine, your special little lady, all while reclined among the tree tops, watching the hummingbirds and woodpeckers. The thought, ingenuity, passion, and crafsmanship that went into creating this haven is evident at every turn. You would never know you're a mere 5 minutes from stores, gas, as well as a major artery such as I-81... not to mention, only around 15 minutes from the metropolis of Syracuse! Tom and Lisa were very responsive and surprisingly flexible ... even when booked solid. Strongly recommend for someone in search of getting off (but not necessarily too far from) "the grid", while seeming to be in another world. And, they thought of all of your everyday conveniences. Pragmatically magical" would sum it up, I guess. We will be back.

Birthday surprise
Publié le 3 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy husband needed time away from the busyness of life as did I! And we both love being in nature and prefer simple accommodations. We are not five star fancy hotel types! This treehouse was everything we could have asked for and more. Our stay was amazing and we loved hanging out on the deck amongst the treetops. We ate all our meals there. The kitchen was well stocked. We used the camp stove and the bbq grill. We relaxed in the hammock and the swing. Comfortable bed and what a treat to hear the babbling creek and the birds in the morning and the evening. We will be back!

It was a great place for our sisters get away, but it would be wonderful under any circumstances, for any occasion. It’s full of the beauty of nature, gorgeous craftsmanship, and a relaxing vibe that’s beyond compare .
