Was promised a top floor view room and instead got 3rd floor view of adjacent property. Very disappointed

I’ll be honest, I was apprehensive going into this hotel after reading reviews online. I got there and was surprised at how nice it was. It is a little aged, but there is a post card charm to it. I think people comparing it to a motel 6 isn’t entirely accurate. It’s a hotel which has been there for a while and it has an aged charm to it. My room had a clean shower and bed, but for the most part I was out and about around the Laguna Beach to worry about the fine details of the hotel.

location and ambiance is amazing, $45 per nite mandatory valet parking is ridiculous.

Management gave us a free upgrade to a suite with a balcony and that was awesome. We didn't like that valet was the only parking option however, which cost $45. When we checked out of the hotel, valet brought us the wrong car. We could have easily driven off with someone else's car if we wanted to, which would have been terrible. When we informed them that the car was not ours, they then spent a bit of time running around trying to find our car because they didn't know where it was. Eventually they brought our car back to us. Overall I would probably stay here again due to the location and convenience, but the valet situation was upsetting.
