Good accommodation for Lahad Datu
Publié le 23 mai 2024 sur HotelsMuch better area of Lahad Datu, compared to town closer to airport. Lots of small shops and a good supermarket below hotel. Area feels relatively safe and we enjoyed the Night Market for dinner (although we were very much a spectacle for locals who are not used to tourists). Hotel itself is reasonably modern, good size bathroom and shower. Beds were OK for comfort and air con worked OK. There is a lot of noise from the streets and shops around, especially on the nights of the night markets until around 10 or 11pm.

Limited breakfast option (only bread and butter, rice porridge or fried rice noodles), very strong filter coffee, but no milk available, only sugar so unsuitable for diabetics.

Some of the notes that we send them are NOT taking cares of, safe are not ready as usual which is not operational, toilet is stuck with water cannot go down, complain they come fix but still same pro. TV remote are not working. There is many facilities pro for this hotelm may due to poor maintain, phone sometime no one pick up. This hotel need do better, breakfast is too basic too.

Day time staff are not so friendly those ladies, not much of smile too, they are lazy and won't greet u at all, those guys at night even more caring and perform much better than them in daytime, they even know how to greet us or remember us. Hotel room is kind of disappointing as the safe is broken, wall painting is off, toilet is very smell something bad. Breakfast is consider very poor too with such price charged to us, as the price of breakfast maybe less than RM3. There is no proper memo at room, so u do not know what is wifi password, what is reception number, as there is no instruction there. Counter staff also mentioned nothing but just give u a key card. There is also no door sign for u to hang, in case either you do not wish anyone to enter or not. Even our room the door inside lock also broken. The room sound proof also poor, you can easily hear what happened next door.
I do think the majority of hotel in this town is overpriced, some of these price u can get much better hotel even in KL, when your price is high, people will judge you more on standard, then this hotel are NOT up to it. If price is less than RM100, i will consider this hotel is best of the value. But when you charge us RM130-160 per night, then this is not a good deal anymore. Even for location is nice since next door is the hypermarket. IF service can be improve, fix up some of the problematic room, increase your stay value like breakfast for sure more positive rating will receive.
