The Historic Clubhouse and 94 townhomes on the north side of the property were destroyed in the Lahaina fire. Their building sites are cleared, and their plans and permits await county approval. Access in this area is restricted. Furthermore, Lahaina Town is currently off-limits while rebuilding is in progress. You will notice the building sites as you drive down the highway and enter the gate at Puamana. Once over the bridge, you will enter the tropical oasis of low-rise homes that Puamana is famous for. Fortunately, two grocery stores in Lahaina and their shopping complexes, Safeway and Foodland Farms, survived the fire and are just a 10-minute drive away. Maui's best Hula show, the Old Lahaina Lua, also survived, along with four excellent restaurants: Ocean Tavern, Mala’s, Aloha Mixed Plate, and Star Noodle.
