Last minute get away at the Abby

First the good - Great place, beautiful property, wonderful service, great size rooms, quick check in. Now the bad - Booked services at Spa but not enough money was spent to get acess to pool and spa services. Access pass is $50 a day if you dont booked service. We each spent over $50 but less than $100. Dosn't seem right. Got breakfast at one of the restaurants. Brunch was $52 per person. Thought that was too much so ordered off the menu. Food was overpriced, cold and did not taste like a top chef cooked it. Lobby was so cold. I understand it was a below 0 day and people are coming in and out the door but it felt like there was no heat at all . Beautiful lobby with a hugh fireplace but you can't enjoy it because its was so cold. Overall, it was a nice weekend with a few hiccups.

Have stayed here many times over many years. The property has changed and evolved with the times, undergoing many updates and improvements. The location is nice, being away from the busy tourism of downtown Lake Geneva, yet close enough to hit the shops and restaurants. The attached spa is a nice, relaxing escape. My only criticism is that our room was ready upon our arrival, but were told we would be charged $25 for early check-in, which is kind of ridiculous when a room is sitting empty. Also, the furniture in the lobby, the "first impression " is a bit worn and could stand to be replaced.

I like the stay over all it’s when it comes to the spa part where it’s all booked up even though I paid to stay at the resort for the spa that we didn’t like at all. The food was alright just pricey for the portion.

Property was very nice, It would have been easier if I brought my own luggage to my room. I felt bad that the bell boy (who was an older man) had to push all my stuff to my room. Otherwise, I had a great 1st time experience. I will definitely be back.

Appreciated being close to the lobby. Very friendly front desk staff —— chicken tortilla soup in Waterfront Restaurant was ridiculously salty. I should have said something but chose to leave it in finishied instead.
