Great Views and great house
Publié le 12 nov. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe view out the back window and off the balcony are amazing! The house had everything we needed to cook meals and hang out. The sauna was a nice treat especially on the cooler fall mornings. It is about 15-20 minute drive from the nearest convenience stores and gas stations but that was never an issue for us as the owners told us this ahead of time and told us where to stop on the way in to avoid needing to head back.

Excellent accommodation

We really enjoyed the deck with the fire table and the sauna was a great bonus! It had everything we needed. Additionally the owners were very easy to get ahold of and very thorough in their communication. We would definitely stay here again!

Great View But Somewhat Remote
Publié le 16 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayProperty is an older home that has been nicley redone and is nice but the basement had multiple double bunk beds making it a bit uncomfortable for couples.... Manager was great at communication and view was good as well.

Great Stay near Gay!

Misty and Jason were great communicators and the check-in process was a breeze. The views were fantastic, the place was clean, and the proximity to all things Keweenaw are 5/5. We loved having access to the sauna and the lake views. We would love to come up and stay here again.

Short Getaway

*communication with hosts (they were responsive and offered recommendations for local places to eat)
*view overlooking Lake Superior
*deck w/firepit (we spent a couple of hours out there)
*upper level king sized bedroom (comfortable for our parents)
Concerns:
*lower level bedroom (The listing states that the house can accommodate 14 - that would be with two people in each of the triple level bunks. Although we saw pictures on the listing, we did not anticipate how tight those beds were, roughly 18" clearance. We slept in separate beds and they still felt a little claustrophobic. That may not be an issue for some, but we did not sleep well.)
*strong musty odor like a wet dog on the lower level
*stairs to get to main living space - I do not remember reading this on the listing. But, it could be a problem for some with mobility issues.

I am sorry for the musty smell. We had the carpets shampooed and they take a day or 2 to dry out. As for the bunk beds we try to make it clear as possiable that what they are with the puctures.

Good but basic stay
Publié le 6 août 2024 sur HomeAwayModern appliances, plenty of hot water, comfortable bed, quiet. Be aware: bring your own dishcloth, dish towel, kleenex, shampoo, conditioner and other toiletries, extra toilet paper. Leave time at the end of your stay for multiple checkout tasks. Kayaks available but no lifejackets; "water access" would be more accurate than "beach;" we had a nice paddle in Keweenaw Bay with borrowed lifejackets.

Harold, we asked if we could help with anything or if you had any questions multiple times. We have over a month of supplies in the supply closet. I am sorry we do not stack seven mini shampoo bottles on the vanity or 5 hand towels on the counter. Note we do not supply facial tissue.
We did not appreciate you breaking the bedroom door. I am guessing that is the main reason why we got a less than 5-star review.
No where on our listing do we claim beach. It is a rock cliff with rock shore you can walk on and get water access.
We do "ask" if you could close the windows, put back any furniture moved and start a load of towels. This is not required but helps us to keep our cleaning fees down for all guests.
In regard to the kayaks, they were there from previous guests that requested them. When you request them, we send you a waver with notice that we do not provide life jackets but require them if using our kayaks. We cannot be held responsible for a guest fitting the wrong size life jacket.
We are on call 24 hours a day to help guests with any needs or suggestions, we offer full-time concierge service, but you have to ask the question and communicate with us for us to know what we can help with. We believe guest books and notes on ever light switch is tacky. It does not give a welcoming feeling that you are appreciated. We are more than happy to help guests and make their stay memorable.
