Publié le 7 sept. 2024 sur HomeAwayLiterally loved everything about this cabin! It’s a perfect scenery, a beautiful drive and has everything you need is in the cabin. Very happy with our pick and would love to come back very soon. Literally felt like we were right at home!

Beautiful cabin
Publié le 12 août 2024 sur HomeAwayBeautiful cabin! Very nicely done and clean. Hosts were super responsive, it’s a bit on the smaller side for a family but perfect for a couple. We saw a black bear from the back porch! We loved it :)

Cabin was ok, the owner was not
Publié le 21 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe cabin was ok. Were I to go back, I'd book a cabin right on the lake, but not from the same owner. I booked the cabin for 6 nights in April. Soon after booking, I messaged the owner asking if I could book an additional night on the front end. The night was open when I looked online. She said I could and sent me the link to pay for it, which I did. Two days before our trip, I got confirmation showing only the 6 nights. When I messaged the owner, she apologized and said that night had already been booked and she would refund me for the night. There was no offer of anything else even though I had to scramble to find another place for one night while having a dog and kids. When I pushed back, she offered me a free night at the end of my trip (which was interesting because when I looked online, that night was already booked). We could not stay the extra night because of work obligations. I found a place near Chimney Rock (the "Sunflower Cottage") for one night. When I asked the cabin owner if she'd be willing to refund me back the $125 difference in price for the night or discount my stay for my inconvenience, she told me no. If I were an owner, I would not have hesitated to do that. It was an inconvenience to have to stay in one spot, leave at 10, and then have to wait until 4 (when I asked for an early check-in, she again said no). She could not have cared less about her mistake and her guests. I will not be staying at any of her cabins again in the future.

Thank you for the review. We are not on the lake but minutes from lakes, beach and river access. We provided kayaks and canoes for you during your stay. We hope you enjoyed your time.

We did initially offer you the extra date. It was not paid for and we could no longer hold it. When you circled back regarding the extra date it was no longer available. Thank you again for your stay.

Last minute "Mini-Moon"
Publié le 5 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayMy new bride and I stayed here for a few days right after getting married. Very pleased with the amenities and privacy of this neighborhood.
The cabin space and yard was perfect for our needs. We did not get to meet the owners, but it is obvious that they take pride in the upkeep of their vacation rental.
Would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends! :)

Beautiful cabin

Host communicated great and the trip was made better because we were able to bring our dog with us - loved everything about the location!

In the boonies
Publié le 17 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayNeed to go down a gravel road up the mountain to get around. I wouldn’t try to take a camper up there. Make sure you bring plenty of food, not hardly any restaurants and the ones there are spendy. But if you like that kind of thing and love the woods it’s for you. Was also raining like crazy so we left a day early Chimney Rock only a few miles.

It is unfortunate that the rain prevented you from experiencing the great hiking, waterfalls, horse-back riding and zip lining all within a 5-10 min drive.. Riverbend has 2 lakes that only residents and guests are permitted to access for kayaking and fishing. These are unique to your stay at the cabin and regret that the rain prevented you from taking advantage of this opportunity.
