Nice view - quiet
Publié le 3 mars 2020 sur HotelsWe enjoyed our stay here. Just two days. Easy walking to town. Enjoyed the deck with a nice sunset. Check in easy. Felt a little chastised with all the notes about cleanliness. Owners must have had some bad experiences.

Chastised is a bit harsh. Yes we have had a small percentage of guests who show no respect for us or our properties that spoil it for others.

Thanks for your comments and we hope you enjoyed your stay. Mapleview Cottage is advertised as having a garden view... nowhere do we say it has a lake view. That should not be a surprise to you.

Property was so-so. The main reason for choosing this place was because it has self laundry facilities and the frontage view of lake Tekapo. Both kinda did not meet expectation. On arrival there was already a mix up in the booking. Initially, got the keys to a single floor unit with good view of the lake. First thing on check in, did 1st round of laundry after 4 days on the road. And left the laundry running, and check out the place & dinner. Came back from dinner & guess what.. another family was in the house. Peter (host) tried to explain the confusion as best he can.. apparently our booked unit is further up the road which the first floor. We quickly pack up our stuffs and took all our bags and the wet laundry.. something you don’t want to experience after a long drive. Other than the not so pleasant checking in experience, everything was ok. We get to continue the laundry at the lower floor. Bed comfy level probably 6/10 - too soft for comfort. Noise level ok

Your booking was for 18C Murray Place and between us I checked you by mistake into 8 Murray Place which we also operate. A genuine mistake on my part I feel, but you were the ones holding the paperwork that clearly stated you were booked into Mapleview Cottage (18C Murray Place), not Lakeview Cottage (8 Murray Place). Mapleview Cottage has a modern washing machine and a very new dryer for guests. As for the "frontage view of Lake Tekapo", you have made that up to make your complaint better. Check the advertising for Mapleview Cottage which does not say that, and never has. That is also why we sell it at a lesser rate. It does have a mountain and garden view, is modern and cosy, and is secluded and quiet which really appeals to a lot of guests. What more can I say? Peter

Checkin - Cant get much simpler. The door is left unlocked and ready for guests after we service the unit.
Checkout - Leave the key where you found it, and walk out the door.
Cant get much simpler than that.

This property is lovely and a sun trap! The fire really heats the place up however there sufficient heating options if you don't want the fire. Quiet, secluded location amongst greenery. Definitely recommend!
